General Overview

Our home is nestled on a bushy block where you will hear the kookaburras daily, see kangaroos hop past and enjoy the cacophony of the native birdlife. A short 5 minute walk from the beautiful and breathtaking cliff top walks of the Great ocean Road, 5 minute walk to the local cafes for a coffee and French pattiseries, not to mention the gateway to all the Great Ocean Road has to offer - day trips, surf trips, forest hikes. There is so much to do regardless of the season. Our home is also used as an Airbnb so is set up beautifully for guests with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 living spaces and a beautiful expansive kitchen overlooking the native trees from every angle. It has a beautiful rustic charm to it where you can relax and unwind or adventure till your heart is content

The Space

This is a fabulous family home with an upstairs open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with a kunara wood fire place. There are 2 queen sized beds upstairs. Downstairs is a fabulous retreat for children with another lounge room and 2 more bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One room has a queen, double and single bed in it and can be used for another family. The spaces are spacious and clean and very functionally appointed

There are an indoor set of stairs and outdoor stairs to the large deck that overlooks the beautiful gum trees

Neighbourhood

You will find yourself in a beautiful coastal town on The Great Ocean Road. Our house is half an hour from Lorne and if you continue driving along The iconic Great Ocean Road you can visit the 12 Apostles. The local town of Aireys inlet is a charming close knitting community with a monthly art and craft market, lovely little cafes and a fabulous French restaurant and bakery, delicious and upmarket Greek restaurant and an authentic Italian pasta restaurant. It has everything you need and only 10 minutes away from a larger town with more shopping facilities. The bush walks along the cliff tops are iconic and frequented by travellers world wide but even in peak holiday times there is still a sense of peace and calmness around. Another iconic spot is the Aireys Inlet Lighthouse avd Lighthouse cafe where you can enjoy the most delicious Devonshire tea on the coast.

Getting to my home

The home is along the Great Ocean Road and is accessible by car. It is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Tullamarine Airport and 40 minutes from Geelong town.

Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport is approximately 1 1/2 hrs away or Avalon airport which is approximately an hour away

Getting Around

The house is approximately 900 metres to the shops including a general store, chemist, post office and local pub. Buses are available to take you along the coast but a car is the best way around if you are wishing to explore. Walking is also wonderful and the house is a 900 metre walk in one direction to the shops avd pub or 900 metres in the other direction to the most beautiful Sunnymead beach.

We are a family of five with 3 young adult children looking to do house swaps to show our children new places and to keep connecting with them on family trips away. We love exploring new locations and enjoy an adventure. We have house swapped before and love the way it feels like having a holiday but still has a sense of homeliness to it also.
