Neighbourhood
There are a dozen widely spaced homes owned by seasonal and full time residents, including expats who are well-integrated with several Tico families.
Nearest airport
San Jose (SJO) about 3.5 hr drive is the international airport. But a good option from SJO is to take a small prop plan to Quepos., which is only about 30 miles along the coast from Casananda. The cost is reasonable, the scenery fantastic. From Quepos, rental car service is available or you can be picked up by a friend or ride service.
Getting Around
Platanillo has basic food markets and a few restaurants within 5 minutes. Wonderful farmers markets in adjoining towns several days each week. Memorable day trips to ocean beaches, waterfalls, and the mountains. The variety of excursions is amazing.

People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
