General Overview

We live at the mainly in this house but also have our house in Haarlem Netherlands. Our German home is a spacious (250 sq meters) bright and quiet house. We fully renovated the ground floor and terrace last year. It’s facing south so you have all day sunshine and a free view into the green and hillside. 5 min walks and you are in “Pfälzer Wald” which is the biggest connected Forrest of germany. The nice public swimming pool is only a 5 min walk. We have 3 cats which need feeding and some love. They go outside so they are not much work but very sweet. Entertainment and tech wise you have everything. A huge TV and best sound system and lighting by smart Philips Hue lamps. There is a big garden to play in for kids. If you are looking for a bright and sunny suburban house close to nature you will love our home. And if you are a wine lover the Weinstraße is only a 20 min car ride away where you can taste and buy some of germanys best white wines

The Space

Open kitchen and living room fully renovated with view into the sunny garden. In the ground floor we have the master bedroom, 2 office rooms kitchen and living room a guest toilet and a bathroom. Upstairs we have 2 apartments each with a bedroom, living room and bathroom. Our teenage daughters are enjoying them and their space and privacy We also have a cellar with one more bedroom and bathroom. However the cellar is still the same style as when the house was built - years 70

Neighbourhood

The next supermarket is 5 min by car. The Forrest starts behind the house. It’s in a quiet cul de sac street. The highlight for families in summer is the wonderful public swimming pool which is a brisk 5 min walk away.

Getting to my home

From Frankfurt airport it’s a 60 min drive. Next train station is Kaiserslautern

Frankfurt 1 h drive or 90 min by train to Enkenbach

Getting Around

It’s best if you have a car when you are here. But the area is also beautiful for biking.

We are a Dutch German family living in Haarlem (between Amsterdam and the beach) and in south western Germany Pfalz close to the French border. We have travelled a lot and called different counties our home. It started with Portugal especially the Algarve where we lived for 1 year. We then moved to Singapore (4 years and 1 child) , Hong Kong (another 4 years and the 2nd daughter). Now we are back since 12 years living in Haarlem and the last 2 years mainly in Germany. Haarlem and the nature around it has often been named as one of Netherlands most beautiful regions
