Surrounded by native bush, it’s peaceful and private, with abundant birdlife including tūī, kererū, fantails, and ruru—and if you’re lucky, you may even hear kiwi at night. The home features sunny decking set in tropical gardens, plus a spa pool, BBQ, and fire pit for relaxing evenings. Inside is light-filled and comfortable, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and off-street parking. It feels secluded, yet is close to local attractions and less than 10 minutes from the centre of Whitianga.

Neighbourhood

Located in a quiet cul-de-sac backing onto native bush, our home offers the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula. A short walk down the hill stairs and along a stream to a safe, family-friendly beach and the popular local coffee cart, The Office. Whitianga town centre is less than 10 minutes drive away, with great cafés, restaurants, shops, Movie theatre, as well as The Lost Spring geothermal spa (recently voted #1 hot pools in NZ) And a short drive to the passenger ferry to Cooks Beach. From this base you can easily visit some of the Coromandel’s most famous attractions, including Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach, New Chums Beach-(frequently acclaimed as one of the world's top beaches) Handy to Coromandel Zipline Tours, Driving Creek Railway, and The Pinnacles. So if you’re looking for stunning beaches, outdoor adventures, or just a place to relax, you’ll find it all within easy reach.

Getting to my home

Getting here is easy. Most international visitors fly into Auckland Airport, then enjoy a scenic 2.5–3 hour drive through the Waikato and Coromandel to Whitianga. For those who prefer not to drive, there are also regular flights from Auckland to Whitianga with Sunair, arriving at our local airport just a few minutes from the house. Rental cars are available in Whitianga if you’d like to explore the peninsula during your stay. The drive itself is part of the experience, with beautiful coastal scenery, native forests, and charming towns along the way.

Hi, I’m Serah. We’re a family of three living in the beautiful beachside town of Whitianga in New Zealand. Our 11-year-old son loves exploring the nearby bush and beaches, and we spend a lot of our free time outdoors enjoying everything this area has to offer, hiking, surfing, fishing etc We’re an adventurous family who love discovering new places, both around New Zealand and overseas. As local business owners, we usually take our holidays between April and October, which gives us flexibility during those months. While we’ve done a few house swaps with friends, we’re new to home exchanging more broadly and are excited to give it a go. We’ll treat your home with the same care and respect as our own.
