General Overview

Our 3 bedroom home is located in cental Whakatāne, just 5 minutes' drive from the town centre and a 7 minute drive over the hill to Ōhope Beach (voted best family beach in NZ!). It is a modest 70s plan house with modern interiors, on a large plot of land with ample parking, room for the kids to ride their bikes in the driveway, a trampoline, large garden space and a huge back deck for entertaining. We are set up well for families with children. The lounge is well stocked with a large variety of different board games and books. There is also a reserve and playground at the end of our street.

The Space

The kids' room has bunks and toys, while the other two rooms have queen size beds. The bathroom and kitchen have been renovated in the last 5 years. We have a cosy fireplace for the winter evenings, and a large heat pump for air conditioning in the summer (very necessary in Whakatāne)! We have fast internet but only a small monitor screen rather than a large television.

Guest Access

This is a single level home, however there are 3 steps up to get into the house. There is ample room to park multiple cars and/or boats. We live at the end of a quiet street with mostly families and retired couples.

Natalie

I'm Natalie, Mum of two young boys aged 10 and 7. We often have an international student living with us also. We love getting out into nature, visiting the beach and hiking. We also really enjoy museums, reading and visiting new places. We've done a couple of house exchanges before and have really appreciated the opportunity it's given us to visit different places. We have also rented our home out on Airbnb in the past.
