Neighbourhood

Our neighbourhood is known as millionaires alley… but we are not millionaires 😊 We’re surrounded mainly by beautiful native bush, and because we’re up high, our views of the ocean are stunning too. It is super peaceful and quiet all around us, yet Sage restaurant is less than five minutes walk along the road. There are plenty of walks to do in our area and plenty of stars to gaze at night. Our neighbours are not visible from our house, yet we don’t feel isolated as they’re close enough should we need.

Nearest airport

Kerikeri is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes drive and ferry ride away.

Getting Around

We are 15 minutes drive from historic Russell township and Long beach, 25 minutes drive to Rawhiti, Oke Bay and the Cape Brett lighthouse walking track. If you want to go ‘across the pond’, we are less than 20 minutes drive away from the car ferry which takes you across to Opua. From there, you can access places such as Paihia (10 minutes from Opua), Kerikeri (35-40 minutes from Opua), Tane Mahuta (2 hours from Opua), or Ninety Mile Beach (around 4 hours from Opua).

Kim

We’re a family of four (Kim, Andi, Otto and baby Rudy) living in our self-built beautiful home in the Bay of Islands, Russell. Currently in the process of beginning to build another home on our land for my parents, Tania and Rob. Looking to explore more of New Zealand, and when Rudy is a bit older, the rest of the world… again! Andi and I have travelled the world extensively together having worked on cruise ships and subsequently going on many wonderful holidays. My favourite places I’ve been to: Easter Island, Aitutaki and Antartica. Andi’s favourites: French Polynesia, Vietnam and Japan.
