General Overview

This is a beautiful yurt that we run as an airbnb on our property. It can house up to 4 people. Ideally a small family. The Black Yurt is situated within Oakura. The surf beach, a number of cafes/restaurants, a pharmacy and a convenience store are within walking distance. Several hiking trails can be found nearby. Accessible via a private staircase, this yurt offers you a comfortable king-size bed, lounge area and kitchenette. The bath and shower are outdoors. A separate small building contains the toilet. This out-of-the-ordinary space is situated on a spacious deck, placed among trees and adjoining a small stream. The yurt feels cozy and is a beautiful place to unwind. Additionally, to the king-size bed, there’s a queen-size futon mattress that can be rolled out on the floor to accommodate a maximum of two children. The dome can be opened and the windows rolled up for a great indoor/outdoor flow and stargazing at night. It is insulated and has a heat pump for heating/cooling. The kitchenette offers coffee and tea equipment as well as a toaster and small bar fridge. For additional cooking needs, there is a fire-pit grill as well as a gas bbq available outside. The setup is not suitable for big food preparation. We encourage our guests to check out the local cafes and restaurants. A beautiful bath and shower can be enjoyed under the open sky. The toilet house is accessible under a roof and houses a hand basin and toilet.
