Neighbourhood

We live in a quiet and very family-friendly area. Here are some examples of things to do, according to your centers of interest: Cities and culture: - Versailles: 15 min by car - Saint Germain en Laye: 15 min by car - Paris (20-25 minutes by car, 40 minutes by train) - 2 hours from Honfleur, Deauville, Trouville (OK for a day-trip) Activities for the family: Thoiry Wildlife park 20min France Miniature 15min (visit all the "nicest" places of France withing a day!) Disneyland Paris (1h15 by car) Parc Astérix (1h15 by car) Espace Rambouillet / Bergerie Nationale St Quentin en Yvelines Leisure Center (http://saint-quentin-en-yvelines.iledeloisirs.fr ) Breteuil Castle Castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte Center Parcs des Bois Francs (1h30): possibility of a day-trip (without accommodation) to enjoy the aquatic park in all seasons. Public Library (across the street) Sports: Many golf courses (Saint Nom la Bretèche, Feucherolles, Fourqueux ...). Ryder’s Cup was at the National Golf of St Quentin en Yvelines (15min from our home) A 10 minute walk and open to everyone for free: basketball courts, atlhetism field, skate park, grass football field. Horse riding (many differents clubs 5 - 10min around) Shopping: Mall at Plaisir and One Nation Outlet (5 min) Parly II at Le Chesnay (10 min) Walking / cycling: The "castle walk" (we call it that way, it’s not the official name !) : nice walk that we like to do, in the footpaths of Villepreux. Walk in the forest (forest of Marly, ...) Bicycle / pedestrian path to the Versailles castle and gardens. Many tips and advices in our homebook :) We’ve been living in the Paris area for ever. Getting Around

A direct train goes to Paris-Montparnasse (passing by Versailles). However, we recommend having a car to visit the area. Many facilities available at walking/biking distance. --------------------------------------------- Even if the train passes through Villepreux (direct Montparnasse), and the shops are accessible on foot or by bike, a car is nevertheless essential to visit the surroundings (we are between town and country).
