General Overview

Our home build was completed in October 2025. The style is modern farmhouse with a touch of Hamptons decor. It is situated at the end of a dead end street surrounded by parkland which is why we chose reverse living to enjoy the most of the views.  Whether it be morning coffee in the sun or sunset drinks,  you'll spend a lot of time relaxing on the balcony overlooking the park.  
We are conveniently located halfway between the Gold and Sunshine coasts and less that 30 minutes to Brisbane city. We are close to public transport and convenience shops.

The Space

Our home is over 2 floors with the master suite and main living/dining area upstairs to optimise the lovely park view.
The master bedroom features a king size bed,  block out blinds and an ensuite with walk in shower and double vanity. 
Downstairs are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, a smaller sitting room with a TV and gaming set up,  bathroom and separate toilet. It also has a back deck for relaxing. 
Our kitchen is fully stocked with just about every appliance you will need if you enjoy cooking. We also have a BBQ available.

Guest Access

There are a set of internal stairs to access the top floor.

Notes

We have a tiny home at the rear of our property which is on Airbnb however it is also our 4th bedroom for guests so if required, we can include it in the swap. If our swaps don't align perfectly,  we can use it ourselves as a backup.

We have a very placid and happy miniature labradoodle who is part of our family.  She can be with family members if it's not convenient for you to have her during your stay. 
We are happy to include our car to licensed drivers over 25 for reciprocal swaps.

Neighbourhood

Our home is at the end of a dead end street with only one neighbour.  We have parkland, ovals and recreational park space on either side.  A walk across the oval will take you to the local convenience shops with a Woolworths supermarket,  chemist and post office. The adjacent set of shops have a gym, medical, dental and vet services plus food options such as a cafe, Chinese, Indian, pizza & kebab, Japanese, fish and chips takeaway and a bottle shop. The Bracken Ridge Tavern and sports club which has been newly renovated is also a quick walk across the oval.  Here you will find an Italian restaurant with wood fired pizzas and the regular bistro is open 7 days a week.

Getting to my home

Airport or car are the quickest and easiest options.

Nearest airport

Brisbane airport is 15-20 minutes drive depending on traffic. 
Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast also have airports less than 2hrs away each.

Getting Around

We have easy access to 2 different bus routes.  One to the train station for heading into the city and the other goes to the large Westfield shopping centre at Chermside.

We are a Brisbane, Australia based couple wanting to explore more of the world.  We have travelled extensively however cost has become a factor so now that we have finished building our new home,  we would be proud to offer it as a home exchange.  I am a professional home organiser and support worker (self employed) and my husband,  Dave is a pilot. He gets 6 weeks annual leave so we are at the stage of our life where our children are grown and we can disappear for longer trips. We are also open to shorter trips in Australia as he gets stints of days off and we can spontaneously go away (cheap flights 😉). In addition to our new build,  we have a tiny home on our property which is listed on Airbnb however we would be happy for it to be occupied for non simultaneous swaps or if travelling with a larger group,  include it in the main house swap.
Airbnb has mostly been our preferred accommodation as we love the feel of living like locals when we travel and Dave sees enough of the inside of hotel rooms through work so this opportunity sounds perfect!
