Neighbourhood

Our home sits in an ideal location for visitors to enjoy all that Edinburgh has to offer. Local shops and cafes are within walking distance, and the Meadows can be reached by foot in a little over 15 minutes (or a very short bus ride, if you prefer). There's a bus stop 3 minutes from our front door that will take you into Old Town in less than 10 mins. The same bus also goes directly to Portobello beach in the other direction. We are located in the beautiful Grange Conservation Area, which is situated approximately one mile to the south of Edinburgh city centre. The area is known for its leafy streets, large Victorian villas and stone-built mansions, many of which are of great architectural significance. For the outdoorsy folk, there are plenty of walks and cycle opportunities nearby. We love going up Blackford Hill and Arthur's Seat (both extinct volcanoes) where have magnificent views of the city and beyond.

Getting Around

There is a bus stop just three minutes from our front door, where you can catch a bus into Old Town. A bit further along is another bus stop that will take you directly to Princes Street, Stockbridge, Leith, the West End and all other city neighbourhoods. You can also catch a bus in the opposite direction to visit Portobello beach, Roslyn chapel, the Pentland hills and many other outdoor areas.
