A duplex 5min walk from the village centre. My place has a local touch and is really well located to discover Pays Basque, Bearn. You can easily go skiing, surfing, hiking, cross the border to spain.
Salies de Béarn’s history is closely tied to salt. The « sel de Salies » (salt of Salies) became a source of wealth during the medieval period. Salt was essential for food preservation during that time. Later, Salies became a popular spa destination for people from all over Europe, including Bismarck. Today, both salt production and spa tourism continue to thrive in the region. Did you know that Jambon de Bayonne (Bayonne ham) can only be produced using salt from Salies?

Salies de Béarn is located on the border of three regions: Pays Basque, Bearn, and Landes. These regions are known for their distinct cultural heritage and offer a wealth of attractions for exploration. Spain is also relatively close by. Whether you’re interested in sports or cultural and historical sites, I highly recommend visiting this area of France. It’s a true gem!

I want to make it clear that I strongly prefer long-term reciprocal exchanges. Platforms like Airbnb and the “consumer” lifestyle do not appeal to me. Hello, my "big" family is now "independent". The eldest Alix is 24, Gaelle is 22, Astrid is 20, Guillaume is 18 and Quitterie is 16. They are all students or about to be. So I travel mostly alone but sometimes two or three children accompany me. I am lucky to work in finance and aviation and to be extremely mobile which allows me to travel and discover new places, new cultures and create new friendships around the world.
