General Overview

Light filled family home in quiet Normandy Park, just south of Seattle, Washington. You can walk just under half-mile to the local shopping area for groceries, coffee shop, and few restaurants. You can also walk to The Cove, a private beach front park with tennis courts, play structure, duck pond, and large natural PNW beach, which means rocks not sand. You will often see seals playing in the sound, blue herons fishing, and lots of tide pool sea creatures. Sometimes the Southern Resident Orca pod goes by but we have never been lucky enough to be there when it happens.

The Space

2 rooms with queen sized beds and two with single beds, 2.5 bathrooms. Our main floor is open concept with views of the Puget Sound and Vashon Island. We can watch the Vashon Island 4th of July fireworks from inside or out of the deck. We have a lovely back yard area with a large deck with dining table for 6, lounge area, bbq, and an in-ground heated pool.

Guest Access

Stairs from street to front door. Stairs down to lower level bedrooms, family room, bathroom and laundry.

Notes

We have three cats that need feeding. Two are extremely shy and one (our Devon Rex) is intensely friendly.

Neighbourhood

Normandy Park is situated on the Puget Sound about 45 minutes south of downtown Seattle. We are near Burien, Washington with a sweet little downtown area full of wonderful restaurants and bakeries. This is an ideal base for having lots of fun short day-trips to iconic Seattle spots like the Seattle Center with the Space Needle, Pike Place Market on Elliott Bay. Longer day-trips to Snoqualmie Falls, Skagit valley tulips (in spring), or even Mount Rainier are easy to do. Take a ferry ride to Vashon, Bremerton, or Whidbey Island and still be home for the sunset on the deck.

Getting to my home

We are 15 minutes from SeaTac International airport. Easy access off of Hwy 509 to our neighborhood.

Getting Around

You can walk to our nearest grocery store but we drive when we have a larger shop to do. The Metro bus stops on 1st Avenue, a little less than half-mile fr0m our house, and can be a convenient way to get to downtown without needing to pay for parking. You can also take the Light Rail from the Angle Lake station and park there for free. That is about 15minutes south of our home.
