Neighbourhood

Our house sits in one of Madrid's most pleasant residential pockets, with everything you need just steps away. Parque de Berlín is the local green lung — perfect for a morning walk or an afternoon with the kids. For brunch, Cafetería El Parque is the neighbourhood staple, relaxed and unpretentious with a great terrace vibe. Come evening, you're spoiled for choice. La Ancha is a Madrid classic — hearty, honest cocina española done properly. Casa Benigna offers a more intimate, refined experience with a loyal following among locals. For something a little more lively and contemporary, Tramo is a great option for dinner and drinks, while Casa Mui brings a creative, modern touch to the neighbourhood dining scene. And to finish the night (or the afternoon, no judgement), Bibi e Bibo does some of the best ice cream in the area. It's a genuinely liveable corner of the city — calm enough to feel like a proper neighbourhood, but with enough going on to keep things interesting.

Francisco

We're Francisco and Maria from Lisboa, Portugal, living in Madrid with our twin daughters (5) and our son (1). We love being out and about, whether that means wandering a new city, hiking, a game of golf or tennis, or simply sitting on a beach watching the kids play. We live in a central Madrid apartment in a neighbourhood we're fond of - easy to get around, with good local life on the doorstep. We travel with three kids, so we know how to make a trip work for everyone. We're not looking for the perfect holiday, just genuine experiences in places we haven't been yet.
