General Overview

Welcome to the capital of Tuscany! Explore magnificent Firenze (Florence) then return to our humble abode tucked in a local neighbourhood, just steps away from the crowds in the historic city centre. A 2-bedroom apartment, great for small families, comes with cuddles from an Italian rescue kitty named Cosmo :)

The Space

We have two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the children's room with two single-sized loft beds. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. There is one bathroom with shower only (no tub). Bus stops are around the corner. We are close to a park. A nice feature about our apartment is that the living and sleeping areas are separated and the bedrooms are internal, away from the noise of the piazza outside. We have a TV with Netflix and Disney+. We also have mosquito nets on all the windows, which is really important in Florence!!

Guest Access

You will have the whole apartment to yourself. Our neighbours are friendly - there's a lovely young woman across the hall, a couple above us, and a bakery beneath us - please be aware that they bake at night, which can sometimes be noisy, just in case you're a light sleeper!

Neighbourhood

We are in an excellent location. Walking distance to everything - the city centre and all the sites, grocery shops, public transit, restaurants and cafes, you name it! Yet we are just outside of the busy city centre and ZTL (limited traffic zone) so you can park a car close to the apartment should you have one. Find the following just beneath our home: a lovely bar for coffee and Italian breakfast or aperitivo, a well-known local bakery for Italian breads and pastries, a nail salon, dry-cleaner, hardware shop, seamstress...the list goes on for having everything you need from the locals right outside the door!

Getting to my home

20 minutes taxi ride or 35-40 by public transit from the Florence Airport 10 min taxi from Santa Maria Novella train station or 30 min walk Well connected by trams and buses Florence is very walkable!

Getting Around

As already mentioned, everything is within walking distance, transit stops and train stations too, or make use of taxis and e-bike-sharing :)

Canadian-Italian family made up of a Canadian teacher-mom of two kids ages 7 and 10, plus our beloved adopted kitty Cosmo, living in Florence, Italy. We treat the homes and animals of others with great care. Seeking exchanges to visit loved ones in Greater Vancouver, BC, but are also enthusiastic about enjoying new places too (including shorter local or European exchanges!).
