General overview
Our cottage is private, quiet and close to nature yet has all mod-cons. Enjoy the 50-acre forest with babbling brook, pristine waterfront on a tranquil lake, and a bright, new cottage that sleeps eight. A perfect getaway, just 70 min to Ottawa.
The space
Nestled among towering pines, our cottage sits on a three acre lot at the end of a well maintained road, with 100 metres of pristine waterfront and a lovely stream running through the property. The forest flows into a 50-acre peninsula of crown land with hiking trails only neighbours use. There are a handful of cottages on this bay; most of the shoreline is undisturbed crown land.
The cottage is a modern 960 sq-ft home which comfortably sleeps eight. Built in 2006, it It has a pine and cedar interior, soaring ceilings in the great room and big windows throughout offering breathtaking views of the lake and forest. Facing west, the cottage and dock offer great sunset views. On a rise above the lake, perched among the tall pine trees, it’s cooled by shade and breeze on hot days. The big windows bring in the light and an open feeling. It’s like camping in luxury.
Guest access
The cottage has a loft bedroom. Other rooms are on the main floor. Laundry is in the semi-finished basement.
Notes
Guests will have full and exclusive use of the cottage and boats: canoe, adult kayak, child kayak, flat play kayak and row boat.
Use the dock near the cottage or follow a beautiful path over the stream to reach a secluded picnic area where forest and lake meet. The stream-fed lake has clear deep water for swimming, boating or fishing. Jump from the dock or use the floating Aqua Lily Pad raft that kids love.

We want to explore the natural beauty of a region (hiking mainly, but we love paddling, swimming and cycling too), see old villages and the occasional city for cultural attractions, eat good food, and for one of us, do long day trips on bike (cycle touring).
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
