General Overview
We are fully booked for the rest of 2025. But we are open for exchange offers in 2026. We prefer simultaneous exchanges but also have globes to spend. Our home is located in the quiet & quirky community of Los Osos, only 15 min from San Luis Obispo. We are directly on the coast, overlooking the bay to Morro Bay, with incredible views from every room: Morro Bay harbor, Morro Rock, Sand dunes and the Pacific Ocean. The weather is incredible year round, a very mild climate. We love the many beach communities that are our neighbors. Our home is comfortable, & tastefully decorated. We have 3 bedrooms with the master bedroom being the only one on the top floor. It has an ensuite master bath, a deep soaking tub, shower & a walk-in closet. The bed is a tempurpedic queen bed. Downstairs we have 2 bedrooms that share a large bathroom, with a shower & a double sink vanity & toilet. One bedroom has a double bed, the other has a queen. Both very comfortable. There is a powder room upstairs with a sink and toilet. We have no pets at this time, but we love animals.
We have some carpets, some hardwood & tiled floors. In our living room upstairs we’ve recently added ceiling fans & a full wall built in entertainment unit with a 65” smart TV. Our open plan kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. You’ll have everything you need to cook your own meals, all while enjoying the incredible views, including a deck off of the kitchen with a large BBQ for cooking outdoors and 2 comfy chairs with ottomans to sit and enjoy the sunset. We love the open green space behind our home and have enjoyed watching a large variety of wildlife, such as deer, heron, egret, coyote, fox & bobcat. At night you can light a fire in the fire pit in the backyard, and enjoy a glass of wine while soaking in our hot tub enjoying the views of the lights of the town of Morro Bay across the harbor. We are a 40 min drive from the award winning vineyards of Paso Robles going north. Going south towards Santa Barbara you enjoy the quaint town of Solvang, the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley wine region and Santa Barbara. Just a 30 min drive up the coast is the charming town of Cambria, with galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and Moonstone Beach. Another 15 minutes drive North brings you to San Simeon and the famous Hearst Castle, which is a fantastic tour of this visually stunning historic home built by Randolph Hearst, and his wild herd of zebra. Another 5 min up that same coast is the viewing area of the Elephant seals, where at peak you can view as many as 12 thousand or more of them in their native habitat on this strand of beach. Another hour along scenic Highway 1 you'll arrive at Big Sur, with its gorgeous cliffs, mountains, beaches, camping, and stunning vistas. Then another hour up that same coastal highway, you'll be in beautiful Carmel, & Monterey with its famous wharf & amazing aquarium, and then the city of San Francisco. Our larger neighboring community is beautiful San Luis Obispo, with great restaurants and fun shopping, just 15 minutes drive east.
Going South from our house are the popular beaches of Avila & Pismo, then the charming hamlet of Solvang, a recreated danish village. A 2 hour drive from our door is the beautiful city of Santa Barbara right on the beach. And another 2 hours south of there, you'll enjoy the sights of Los Angeles. While on Vacation you should make the drive to see Yosemite, which is about 3 hours from our home. Well worth the trip. On your return from your beach excursions, we have recently installed a private outdoor shower, with hot water, so no fear of bringing sandy feet in the house. We have boogie boards along with ice coolers, beach towels, chairs and an umbrella for your use. Come and enjoy all the California central coast has to offer!

Neighbourhood
We live at the end of a dead-end street in a very quiet neighborhood. Our neighbors are mostly retired, kind & friendly. Our small town of 14,000 is just 15 minutes to beautiful San Luis Obispo, a thriving downtown area. Thursday night is farmers market which is a don’t miss weekly event. They close off the streets in downtown San Luis Obispo. Besides the farmers market there’s always restaurants serving their food outside, vendors and entertainment. In the summer there’s free music concerts in the plaza by the Mission on Fri nights. You go early for a good spot and take your chairs.
Always a fun event.
Getting to my home
180 miles from our home is San Francisco Airport (SFO) It’s a 3 1/2 hr drive.
Los Angeles Airport (LAX) is also a 3 1/2 hr drive depending on traffic.
Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is smaller but is just 2 hours away.
Flying into these airports you can pick up a rental car.
Nearest airport
We have a wonderful airport in San Luis Obispo. (SBP) You can pick up a rental car there. But if we are to exchange our cars, ours would be left there for you. Then it’s just a short 30 minute drive to our home.
Getting Around
You will need a car to get around. If we agree to exchange cars, we currently drive a 2024 Mustang Mach-E (an electric car), and a 2012 Lexus RX 350.
We had a wonderful long weekend stay at in Los Osos. Bruce and Jerri's house is situated on a quiet dead end road very close to a beautiful state park as well as the shops and restaurants in Los Osos. Their house was so comfortable and welcoming, and we especially loved watching the fog roll out in the morning over the ocean and enjoying the stars at night in the hot tub. They also have a magical and comfortable porch set up, perfect for reading a book or sipping some tea in the morning sun, as well as a beautiful back patio with grill. Overall, their house was perfect for our family and I would highly recommend them for any future exchanges.
We enjoyed staying with Bruce and Jeri in their lovely home in Los Osos. The house is big and offers plenty of space and you feel home right away. The chickens left us eggs and we enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. We spend a globe on our California trip and don’t regret staying on the central coast. The area around San Luis Obispo is a pleasant experience and we would anytime recommend staying with Bruce and Jeri.
Bruce and Jeri were so easy to contact and so appreciative of the information we could help them with.
They left our home clean and tidy, with a lovely plant and card and we'd be happy to welcome them back anytime. Hope we're able to meet next time ......
Claire and her family stayed at our home from October 13-16, 2023. Claire was easy to communicate with and was careful with the instructions for departing our home. They also cared for our chickens while we were away. When we returned, our home was in perfect condition, just as we left it. We would highly recommend Claire and her family for an exchange. This was an easy exchange and they thanked us with a lovely card and a nice gift as a thank you. We would welcome them back anytime.
We enjoyed a week in Paul & Muriel’s beautiful home. Muriel was fantastic at communicating with us & alerted us to the special local events that enabled us to score tickets to the Tattoo at Edinburgh castle. (Which was fantastic) The home is well situated in a quiet, serene, rural setting while being very conveniently located near the train station, and not far from the Glasgow airport. We loved the lovely garden views and their clean, spacious & very comfortable home. We highly recommend Paul & Muriel as exchange partners and hope to meet them someday.
Peter and Pia are excellent home exchangers!!
We came home to a spotless house, a very nice thank you note and even a nice bottle of wine.
They communicated well throughout the process; before, during and after the exchange. Highly recommend them.

We are hoping to travel with our daughter and her 2 young teens to Hawaii June or August 2025, for at least a week. We have a globe to spend for that. Or our home can be available as well. We are also hoping for a 2 week trip to Italy or Croatia for our son and his family, so there would be 4 adults and 2 teens traveling total, for July 2025. We can use a globe or our home could be available We are fully retired, happily married couple in our late 60's. We love to travel, and have completed over 58 successful exchanges on 2 exchange sites. We love to see the Good Ol' USA, especially Hawaii, and LOVE to travel to Europe! We are delighted to make short term exchanges in Ca for 4-7 nights, and elsewhere in the USA for 1-3 weeks. For Europe, we prefer at least 2-3 weeks. We are careful and considerate of our hosts homes, and care for them as we would our own. We will make your stay as comfortable, fun & as easy as possible. We have kind neighbors and friends who will help you with questions or concerns, as well as our daughter who lives only 30 min drive away. We love to bike, hike, explore, sight see, and tour. With permission from our host, we sometimes travel with friends or family. Let's get to know each other, we're excited for the possibilities!
