Enter into the main level, with living and dining spaces, a deck with backyard access, fully-stocked kitchen with gas range, an office with desk and piano, and one full bathroom. Upstairs, the master suite includes a queen size bed and en suite bathroom with glass shower plus built-ins and plenty of storage. On the lower level, two more bedrooms - one with a queen size bed, and the other with a twin trundle bed (pulls out to add a junior bed), bathroom, laundry room, plus a family room for relaxing or playing. TV provides streaming capability - you're welcome to log into your Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu account and stream content. Games, puzzles and children's toys are also available. We have children and want this place to be welcoming to families - we may have additional children's amenities available (e.g., high chair, pack and play, children's dinnerware, etc). The entire house features radiant floor heating and solar panels offset 100% of the house's electrical usage.

Neighbourhood
Ballard is an older, established neighborhood in Seattle with Nordic roots, centered around the commercial fishing industry along the water. This popular neighborhood offers trendy bars and eateries, microbreweries, one of the only sandy beaches in the city (Golden Gardens), the Ballard Locks, parks, and the Nordic Heritage museum. Plus Ballard hosts a fantastic year-long farmer's market on Sundays.
Getting around
Bus service is available within a few blocks' walk, but Lyft/Uber service is also plentiful and usually arrives within a few minutes of requesting. If you're traveling with a car, there is off street parking available at the house, and free street parking is available for additional cars.

Kelly
Kelly (41), Michiel (41), Fenna (6) and Siska (4). We love to travel internationally to new and exciting places and also to great outdoorsy spots within the USA and Canada. We are excited about the idea of home exchanges but will be moving summer 2022 to our beloved Methow Valley in north-central Washington so have put plans on hold a bit. Michiel and Kelly both work in sustainability related fields. When we travel we love adventure, outdoors and culture, but we also just like to slow down in a place and try to really experience it and watch our children thrive. We have done gap year type travels both before and with our kids, and have rented our house via Airbnb in the past and know how to be very respectful guests.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
