General Overview
Located in historic James Bay, our charming 140 sq m home is within walking distance to beaches, the breakwater, the inner harbour, downtown, Chinatown, museums, Beacon Hill Park, and award-winning restaurants and cafés.
The Space
This is our primary family home, and we've furnished and decorated it with great care. We live in a duplex and share one wall with our lovely neighbours.
The home is on three floors. The main floor has a large living room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast nook, 1/2 bathroom and two balconies. The top floor has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two balconies; the primary has an en-suite with walk-in shower; the second bedroom can have one or two single beds. The primary bedroom has two twin XL beds that can remain separated or be pushed together. The second bedroom has one or two twin beds, ideal for kids.
The lower floor has a garage with Pilates reformer, laundry room, and a separate suite that is not available to guests (our dear friend owns this part of the house and lives there).
The living room has a huge, comfy sectional, plus a gas fireplace, 70" television, and south-facing balcony that overlooks our little backyard. The dining room seats up to eight. Our charming and fully equipped kitchen has a breakfast nook, and north facing balcony that overlooks our street. It's a lovely spot to watch the horse-drawn carriages go by and wave to our friendly neighbours.
Our home is cheerful and eclectic, with four balconies and beautiful views. Chase the sun or shade while you sip your coffee or wine. Despite its bustling location, our home is quiet and is surrounded by trees and songbirds.
Walk out our front door to whale watching, kayak or bike rentals, and historic sites! Safe and separated bike trails, starting on our block, take you all across the city, to swimming lakes, or parks.
It's easy to enjoy our home and neighbourhood without a car. James Bay has two grocery stores, bakeries, wine and beer shops, cafés, restaurants, ice cream shops and much more.
Inside our home, you'll find that the colour scheme coordinates with the peacock wallpaper gracing our front entrance and dining room. Plus, a huge bonus, we have a heat pump to keep you warm or cool!
Guest Access
Our front door is street level and the home is one three levels with stairs.
Notes
It's easy to walk from our house to downtown, or to take the bus across town or up the peninsula. If you want to go on hikes in the forest or along the coast, you'll need to rent a car. There are gorgeous trails within an hour's drive.

We are a family of three looking to travel to Europe or the UK! My husband and I work for the the provincial government and our nearly 13-year-old son is a budding 3D animator and a talented musician. We are vegan and prefer to do an exchange with travellers who don't mind cooking plant-based meals in our kitchen. If you must have animal products, please don't leave anything behind after your stay!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
