General Overview

Ojochal is a small town nestled between the jungle and the ocean, home to both Costa Rican families and expats. Nearly every room in our house offers a view of the gorgeous, lush mountainside behind our backyard- with waterfalls cascading down during rainy season. It's a beautiful setting, and a great place to enjoy nature while maintaining everyday comfort. Our house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a sofabed. It also has a stand-alone casita for visitors, with AC, a work desk, a double bed, and a full bathroom. The wifi is strong and allows for working from home.

The Space

The main house has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a kitchen, a livingroom, and an air-conditioned office/tv room with a sofabed. The casita is air-conditioned, and has a queen bed, shower, bathroom, office desk, and outdoor kitchenette with grill, fridge, and sink. The backyard has fruit trees, and a patio that makes for perfect breakfasts and dinners while staring at the mountainside. We have a 3-car driveway, with one space under an overhang. There's also a home gym with weights.

Guest Access

There are two stone stairs to get into the house, and otherwise everything is flat.

Neighbourhood

Our house is walkable to local restaurants, coffee shops, supermarket, and the weekly farmer's market. The culinary hotspots at the entrance to Ojochal are just a 5-minute drive away. Hiking trails into the mountains start not far from our house, there's a local waterfall about 1.5km away, and the beach is just a 15-minute drive.

Getting to my home

When entering Ojochal, stay on Calle del Bosque. Past the primary school, turn left onto a bridge. Keep going uphill until you turn right on Calle Bougainvillea. Halfway down the road, turn left on Calle Veranera (no sign, but it's the only turn you'll pass). Continue on this road until it dead-ends at a pasture, and we're the house on the left!

Nearest airport

Quepos, ~ 1 hour driving.

Getting Around

15 minute walk or less: 2 Sodas, one restaurant, one bakery, two supermarkets, and one weekly farmer's market. 20 minute walk: cofee shop/grocery/weekly farmer's market You'll likely want a car for anything beyond that, including the beach.
