General Overview

Create memories with your family and friends at “SandyLand,” our spacious, beautifully decorated four bedroom, four bath condo located on Ocean Isle Beach Island.  We’re located across the street from the beach access, so you’ll have toes in the sand after a short 5 minute walk. Ocean Isle is a wonderful family beach known for its gently sloping 7 mile beach and warm ocean waters. It is ideally located between the historic town of Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC each being within 20 to 30 miles, and each with an airport. This gives you the choice to play golf (over 30 nearby golf courses), go fishing, go shopping, visit aquariums, do some historical sightseeing, enjoy many restaurants, or simply enjoy playing in the ocean and relaxing at the beach. Companies on the island and in the surrounding areas rent golf carts, kayaks, bikes, surf boards, and so much more. Free concerts in town on Friday nights in the summer.

We also rent our property, so depending on the time of year, we may ask that you pay the cleaning fee rather than cleaning yourself if a renter is following your stay.

The Space

The spacious 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom condo is bright and welcoming. The fully stocked kitchen with new quartz countertops makes preparing meals a breeze, and you can dine at the dining table which seats six, the kitchen counter which has four bar stools, or enjoy your meal al fresco on the outdoor porch dining table which also seats six.  Relax in the comfortable living room, and there are plenty of games and books on hand to add to your enjoyment, as well as a DVD player with plenty of movies and a TV to which you can cast For more relaxation, step out onto the large back porch overlooking a pond full of turtles where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine seated on comfortable outdoor furniture.  Each of the four bedrooms has a smart TV and an ensuite bathroom.  The first bedroom has a king size bed, the second bedroom two doubles, the third bedroom, a queen size bed, and the fourth bedroom, two sets of bunkbeds. You can play tennis, pickleball and basketball with courts minutes away on the property, and the beach is located a five minute walk away. The building has an elevator for easy access and plenty of parking in designated spots directly under the building.

The unit is on the second floor, but there is elevator access.

Notes

This is a wonderful place to make family memories or have a fun beach weekend with good friends! Note that children under two are welcome, but we do not have any cribs or pack n plays.

Neighbourhood

The condo is located in a development called the Islander resort and is a five minute walk from the beach access. Drive over the bridge to the island and relaxation sets on. On the island, there’s a wonderful playground, restaurants., coffee shops, and places to get ice cream or the famous “Sunset slush..” Peope get around the island by golf cart, bicycle,  or use an automobile.

Getting to my home

You will need to arrive via car as there’s no public transportation getting to the island.

Nearest airport

Airports are located in both Myrtle Beach and Wilmington., each about an hour away.

Getting Around

On the island, you are walking distance from a restaurant that’s a block away and the beach which is across the street. In the center part of the island there are multiple restaurants, and icecream store, a large playground and miniature golf- those are a 5 minute drive away, and a mile and a half walk. You’ll need a car to reach the grocery store which is located off the island but near the bridge.

Sometimes we travel with our two adult daughters who are in their 20s, and sometimes it’s just the two of us. As empty nesters getting closer to retirement, we look forward to continuing to have adventures across the globe.
