4 Bedroom, 2 bath home, with a two-car garage. In the California Gold Country foothills of the Sierra Nevada, 30 minutes from downtown Sacramento, 90 minutes from South Lake Tahoe, 120 minutes to Berkeley and San Francisco (when traffic cooperates).
Four bedrooms, including an upstairs master bedroom (California king bed) and master bath; three bedrooms downstairs, including one larger (queen bed) and two smaller rooms (single and a futon in one room, single in the other room). With another futon in the living room, and depending on how many sleep on the futons (they can accommodate two children or one adult comfortably) we can accommodate 8-10. Approximately 2,000 square feet. Outside, we have a patio with a covered veranda (including lights and a fan for summer evenings) and a gas barbecue grill, plus garden and lawn areas.
Two floors, with a stairway. Master bedroom and master bath are upstairs (plus a sunroom of sorts), everything else is downstairs. The downstairs is accessible to wheelchairs, but there are no grab bars in either bathroom.
It's a Mediterranean climate here in Northern California, and on the edge of the Central Valley, it's a bit more extreme than the Bay Area -- winters are usually rather wet (but we rarely get snow at our elevation of 1,300 feet), and summers are dry and often quite hot. We have a nice mini-split heating/cooling system that keeps the home comfortable in all seasons.

We're in a semi-rural suburban neighborhood. Everything you need is fairly close -- 1-2 miles. Grocery stories, restaurants, etc. Lots of places to walk, including out the front door and around the immediate neighborhood. We're 20 minutes from the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma, where the Gold Rush got started in 1849. The American River Trail begins just down the hill from us in Folsom, with paved bicycle paths that go all the way to Discovery Park in Sacramento.
You'll need a vehicle. Public transportation is quite limited. We are open to having one of our vehicles available for our guests (a Toyota Rav4 and a Nissan Altima -- both seat five, but the Rav4 does it more comfortably).
