General Overview
Escape to our one-of-a-kind, custom-built cabin nestled in the peaceful woods of Fairview, NC — just minutes from world-class breweries, mountain trails, and the vibrant culture of Asheville. Our home was completed in 2024, built primarily by my incredibly talented husband, who is a professional builder—so everything still feels very new.
✨ The Cabin
Welcome to Your Mountain Retreat
Perched high like a treehouse, this custom-crafted cabin offers a unique and stunning views of a hill very close to the porch which is covered in towering trees and lush rhododendron. From April-October when the leaves are out, the landscape gives an illusion of a rainforest—one guest even described it as "a hug from Mother Nature."
Enjoy it all from the brand new private jet hot tub on the spacious porch, which features plenty of comfortable seating and a fire table. A peaceful stream flows past the porch that sometimes flows more like a small waterfall adding a soothing sound you can hear even from inside the cabin after it rains.
Inside the Cabin
Custom Design: Built with beautiful beetle-kill pine and bold red accents
Vaulted Ceilings: Creating an airy, artistic atmosphere
Whimsical Loft: A cozy twin bed tucked in a small storybook-style loft room — perfect for a child or solo adult
On the same floor, there is a second bunk bed plus two additional loft beds—perfect for up to four kids in a cozy, fun sleeping space. (Note: the loft beds are accessible by a short ladder,) as well as another small room with a twin sized bed.
The master bedroom on the main floor sleeps 2, and we also have a futon in the music room.

Hi! We’re Kate and Justin — a creative, curious, and friendly couple who love new adventures and cozy retreats alike. Kate spent 14 years touring the world as a singer-songwriter and now channels her love of music into teaching and running her own businesses. Justin is a masterful builder and designer who built most of our dreamy cabin himself — when he’s not working with wood, you’ll likely find him on a disc golf course giving big hugs to his friends. Together, we’re happiest hiking new trails, out on the water, or discovering the best local eats (Kate takes that mission very seriously!).
Now in our late 40s, we find joy in slowing down a little, soaking up nature, and connecting with like-minded people through home exchange. We’ll treat your home with the same care and heart we give ou
