Neighbourhood
We live in a small, peaceful mountain community of approximately 38 homes on spacious two-acre properties. Neighbors value privacy, dark skies, wildlife, and the natural beauty that surrounds us.
Neighborhood roads are dirt roads shared by residents, visitors, and wildlife. We kindly ask guests to drive slowly and respectfully to help preserve the peaceful atmosphere and keep dust down.
One of the most unique aspects of our property is direct access to public lands and trails immediately behind the home, allowing you to step into nature without walking through the neighborhood first.
Nearest airport
The closest commercial airport is Colorado Springs Airport (COS), located about 79 miles southeast of our home (approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours driving time depending on weather and traffic).
Denver International Airport (DEN) is about 140 miles northeast (approximately 2.5 to 3 hours driving time) and is the primary international airport for the region, offering the most flight options.
Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), near Vail, is about 110 miles northwest (approximately 2 to 2.5 hours driving time) and offers seasonal and regional flight options.
Small regional airports are also located in Buena Vista, Salida, and Leadville; however, these do not offer commercial airline service and are primarily used for private or charter aircraft.
A rental car is strongly recommended, as public transportation options are very limited in our area.
Getting Around
Downtown Buena Vista is approximately ten minutes away and offers shops, restaurants, live music, the Buena Vista River Walk, and access to the Arkansas River.
Salida is about 35–40 minutes south and features a vibrant historic downtown, galleries, restaurants, shopping, and riverfront spaces.
Leadville, about 35 minutes north, is a historic mining town filled with local history, shops, museums, and access to Twin Lakes.
Nearby attractions include Mount Princeton Hot Springs, Cottonwood Hot Springs, Twin Lakes, Monarch Mountain Ski Area, and Ski Cooper.
For unforgettable day trips, both Cottonwood Pass and Independence Pass offer breathtaking mountain drives, alpine scenery, and access to incredible hiking opportunities. Cottonwood Pass provides seasonal access toward Crested Butte and Gunnison, while Independence Pass leads toward Aspen and is considered one of Colorado’s most spectacular high-mountain drives.
