Candace
Hello and welcome. I live between Atlanta and Washington, DC, and this English basement apartment sits right in the heart of Capitol Hill. I also have a two bedroom, one and an half bath apartment upstairs. My husband, Thomas, is retired, which gives us flexibility with travel throughout the year. I work in leadership and professional development, so our schedule often follows conferences and seasonal breaks.
After many years of international travel for work, including time in more than 40 countries, I’ve come to appreciate immersion over quick trips. I value the opportunity to live in a home and neighborhood, experiencing a place through its everyday rhythms rather than from a hotel room.
About the apartment
I have a historic row home with a two bedroom apartment upstairs and a private one bedroom, one bath English basement below. The row home is just a five minute walk from historic Eastern Market. It offers a comfortable balance of privacy and convenience, whether you are staying for a few days or a few weeks. The kitchen is fully equipped, the space is smoke free, and everything is arranged to make your stay easy.
You will be close to the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, and Barracks Row, with the Metro, parks, and neighborhood cafés all within walking distance. Capitol Hill has a welcoming neighborhood feel, especially on weekends when Eastern Market is full of local vendors and families.
