Neighbourhood
We're in a typical suburban neighbourhood, close to good schools and therefore popular with families. We're up on a hill, and a short stroll will give you great city views and beautiful sunrises, if you're keen. There are two small playgrounds within walking distance, along with a long bike trail/running track with expansive sunset views. A friendly and decent-sized community supermarket 3 mins drive away, with an excellent deli and wide range of gourmet products combined with all the basics. A highly-regarded butcher is on the same shopping strip, along with a chemist, an excellent Thai massage venue (ask for Bella!), a florist and a large op shop. An eight minute drive takes you to a replenishing quiet stroll along the Moorabool river, where you can spot native birds and plants, and occasionally, a platypus. There are free tennis courts close by, (we can supply racquets and balls).
Nearest airport
The nearest airport is Melbourne - Avalon. It's a 20 minute car trip. Alternatively, you can catch a Skybus into Geelong city and catch another bus from there, or you can organise a chartered door-to-door transfer with MyBus Geelong for $45 (as of Feb 2026).
Getting Around
We have a couple of bus stops within easy walking distance from which you can get into the town centre or train station. But also feel free to ask if we will have a car available for you to use while you stay!

Our Family: Lucila, Josh, and our four kids (ages range from late primary to late teens)
We’re a curious, outdoors-loving family of six who enjoy making the most of each new place we visit. Based in Geelong, Victoria, we’re drawn to coastal adventures, sunlit national parks, and the thrill of discovering local treasures—especially op shops.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
