General Overview

“Located in a quiet, upscale residential neighborhood, our home is just minutes from local shops, cafes, restaurants of Palm Beach. We love the friendly atmosphere of Aruba where all visitors feel welcomed. The best supermarket on the island, Super Food, is a ten-minute car ride. You are a five-minute drive from hotels, casinos and night life or you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings sun, sea and sand.”

The Space

House of Art is a three-bedroom, two bathroom, luxury villa situated on one level. All rooms have individual A/C units. Just two steps to enter our home. The living space opens to a spacious patio equipped for outdoor cooking and dining. The patio is adjacent to a 10' x 20" swimming pool with a palapa. There are six chaise lounge chairs and assorted potted fruit trees.

Guest Access

As mentioned there are just two steps to enter the living area. There is a driveway for one car to accommodate off-street parking.

Notes

There is a great supermarket, Ting Wei, that is a one minute away that is located next to a lovely cafe, The Bean Corner. We have assorted beach gear for your use.

Neighbourhood

Most of the homes in the neighborhood are short-term rentals. There is a new 8-unit condo located across the street from House of Art. The capital of Aruba, Oranjestad, is a 15-minute ride away where the cruise ships dock. There are many high-end shops located there.

Getting to my home

The best way for getting around the island is by car although there is a bus system that can be accessed on Route 2 where the supermarket Ting Wei is located.

Nearest airport

Queen Beatrix International Airport is a 20-minute ride away.

Getting Around

We are located a three-minute car ride to Palm Beach where beach front high rise hotels and resorts are located. Many restaurants, boutiques, shops and bars are in Palm Beach. There are no Ubers or Lyfts in Aruba however cabs for hire are plentiful.

Hal

Jean and Hal are adventurers. We joined in matrimony in Vermont 2021 blending our five adult children (Marissa, Alex, Craig, Anneke and Abi). We honeymooned in Aruba and fell in love with “one happy island.” Before we left the island, we bought our first home, a luxury vacation rental. We bought our second home in Noord where we reside just minutes away from Palm Beach, a piece of paradise. Family is an important core value for us. Jean is a semi-retired art teacher (now doing artist retreats in Aruba) and an international artist who paints abstract art with wheels on her feet or in her hands (www.jeancherounyfineart.com). Our home is adorned with her art. Hal is a retired social entrepreneur (www.goodnewsgarage.org) and Vermont State Representative. Growing potted fruit trees has become his newest venture. Our future travel adventures include Australia, Venice, Italy, Greece, Great Britain and anywhere in Canada. In the USA Chicago, Sedona, AZ and Alaska are calling. We are open to 2-to-3-month swaps that might inspire artists as ourselves.
