Getting Around
While there’s a small village grocery (Marché Richelieu – Marché L. Fournier) just a 5-minute walk from our home (they have all the basics and are famous locally for their excellent meat selections), we usually do our main shopping in Sainte-Marie de Beauce, about a 15-minute drive from Sainte-Hénédine.
If you plan to visit Québec City frequently, you can also shop there, but Sainte-Marie is our go-to for supermarkets, a cinema, the tourist information office and most other daily needs.
From Sainte-Hénédine, you’ll likely enjoy exploring several nearby towns and cities as :
- Sainte-Marie de Beauce : groceries, cinema, local shops
- Lévis : south side of the Saint-Lawrence River
- Québec City : north side of the Saint-Lawrence River, historic district, restaurants, and cultural sites
- Saint-Georges de Beauce : closest city to the Maine (USA) border
