Notes
Tucked high in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the charming town of Banner Elk, it’s the kind of place where mornings start quietly—with coffee on the porch while the clouds drift through the valleys below.
This home has become one of our favorite places to escape—and we love the idea of sharing that experience with fellow travelers.
Life in the mountains naturally slows down, and love how easy it is to spend the day outdoors. Some favorite activities include:
* Hiking scenic mountain trails and discovering waterfalls and overlooks
* Skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, sledding or ice skating in winter at nearby resorts like Sugar Mountain Resort and Beech Mountain Resort
* Driving the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, especially during peak fall foliage
* Fishing, tubing, rafting or relaxing by mountain streams
* Outdoor concerts, wineries, and festivals in nearby towns
* Evenings by the fire pit and hot tub watching sunsets and incredible star-filled skies
*** Our home is managed by a rental company so there is a $395 cleaning fee after your stay.

Hello from our adventure-loving family! We’re a couple who met on an 11-month mission trip backpacking around the world — From hiking mountain trails to tasting street food in faraway cities, we fell in love exploring new cultures and discovering beauty in every corner of the globe.
Ever since, we’ve been exploring new places, cultures, and experiences together — and now we’re thrilled to share that same sense of wonder with our three amazing kids.
Our cozy mountain home is tucked away in one of our favorite places - Eagles Nest in Banner Elk, NC. It’s our family’s special retreat — a place to slow down, reconnect, and soak in the beauty of the mountains. We love opening our doors to others so they can experience a bit of that same magic.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
