Neighbourhood

Our home is located in Barrio de Porta, a residential neighbourhood of Quart de Poblet. It’s not a picturesque area — it’s practical rather than charming — but it is quiet, very local and easy to live in. The neighbourhood itself is calm and typical of a Valencian pueblo. Nearby you’ll find small supermarkets and local fruterías for everyday needs. For good restaurants, we recommend Aldaia, the Bonaire shopping centre, or simply ordering delivery — we’re happy to share our personal recommendations. We used to live more centrally, but we now really value the freedom that having a car and easy parking gives us. We really like to go on hikes or to walk on the beach and this location is perfect por each. Here, parking on the street is simple and free, and you can get in and out of the city without stress. Valencia city centre is 15–20 minutes away by car or metro. If we go to the city we usually park for free near Quart de Poblet metro station and take the metro straight into the city. The beach is about 20 minutes by car, which is also the most convenient way to reach it from here. This location is ideal if you enjoy day trips and nature escapes. From here, it’s easy to head out to places like Albufera Natural Park, El Saler, or inland destinations such as Lago de Anna and other hiking or swimming spots. Valencia offers an incredible mix of culture and Mediterranean life, including the City of Arts and Sciences, the historic old town, lively neighbourhoods like El Carmen and Ruzafa, and fantastic food. If you visit in March, you can experience Las Fallas, Valencia’s most iconic festival. We’re happy to share tips on how to enjoy it in a more local and relaxed way. This is a great base if you’re looking for calm, space and mobility, with fast access to the city, the beach and nature — without the stress of parking or heavy traffic.

Getting Around

The easiest way to explore Valencia city is to park at the Quart de Poblet metro station and take the metro. To reach the beach, driving is best. Public transport in the immediate neighborhood is possible but not very convenient.
