Neighbourhood
Our home is located in a practical, local area with supermarkets, bakeries, fruterías and other everyday services nearby, between Quart de Poblet and Aldaia, just 10 minutes by car from Valencia.
For restaurants and shopping, there are some options in the neighbourhood, and plenty more in Quart de Poblet, Aldaia, at Bonaire shopping centre, and in Valencia. The location is also a good base for day trips, with easy access to inland hiking and swimming spots and coastal towns such as Dénia, Altea, Calpe and Peñíscola.
Our Go-To Spots
There are many places to explore within around two hours. Some ideas:
* Dénia: historic old town, tapas and kayaking in the coves.
* Altea: beautiful old town, seaside cafés and clear-water beaches.
* El Saler & Albufera: sunset boat trips, nature and local rice dishes.
* Peñíscola: castle, beaches and seafood.
* Calpe: Peñón hike, swimming and seafood.
* Cullera: sandy beaches, lighthouse walks and rice fields.
There are many more places worth exploring, and we’re happy to share recommendations depending on what you enjoy.

Getting Around
I highly recommend having a car during your stay, especially if you’d like to explore beyond Valencia. Street parking is generally easy and free in the area.
For Valencia city, the easiest option is to drive to Quart de Poblet metro station, where there is a large free public car park and then take the metro into the city. The metro station is not within walking distance from the house, so you would need to take a bus or drive there.
Cabify is also widely available in Valencia and can be a convenient and reasonably priced option for getting around without a car.
For the beach, driving is the most convenient option, with the nearest beaches around 20 minutes away by car.
