General Overview
We love how easy and family-friendly our home is. We’re close to the beach with beautiful sea views, so salty air and morning walks are part of everyday life. The house has been newly renovated, so everything feels fresh, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, especially for life with young kids.
There are four bedrooms: a master with a king bed, a double room, a nursery with a cot, and a kids’ room with a single bed, making it ideal for families. We also have two living rooms, so there’s plenty of space to spread out, relax, or put the kids down while still enjoying the evening.
Outside, a large deck is the perfect spot for your morning coffee or a relaxed evening drink. It’s a home where you have everything you need without overthinking it, and the location makes it extra special. We’re surrounded by great cafés and restaurants, so whether it’s a quick coffee, a beach picnic, or dinner out, everything is close and convenient. It’s relaxed, coastal living at its best
The Space
Our home is newly renovated and designed with family living and entertaining in mind. Light-filled and comfortable, the layout offers a relaxed, welcoming feel from the moment you walk in.
There are four bedrooms in total, including two children’s rooms—one set up with a cot—making the house ideal for families. Two separate living areas provide plenty of space to spread out, whether that’s kids playing, adults relaxing, or everyone coming together at the end of the day.
The open living and dining area flows out to a large deck with water views, creating a seamless indoor–outdoor space that’s perfect for entertaining, family meals, or simply enjoying the outlook. The back section is fully fenced, providing a safe space for children to play, and includes a playhouse that’s always a hit with little ones.
The home is well equipped for everyday family life, with plenty of toys, a high chair, cot, and pushchair available for use. Comfortable, practical, and thoughtfully set up, our home is a calm and easy place to settle into—whether you’re staying for a short visit or a longer exchange.

Neighbourhood
Shelly Park is a relaxed, family-friendly coastal suburb in East Auckland, loved for its quiet beaches, green spaces, and easy pace of life. With Shelly Park and Cockle Bay Beach both within walking distance, it’s the kind of place where morning walks, beach picnics, and sunset swims become part of your everyday routine. Scenic coastal tracks connect the area and offer beautiful views across the water, perfect for pram walks or leisurely weekend strolls.
Despite its peaceful feel, Shelly Park is conveniently located just a five-minute drive from Howick Village. Howick is full of character, with great cafés, bars, restaurants, boutique shopping, and a strong local community vibe. It’s an easy place to spend a slow morning or enjoy a relaxed evening out.
The area is also well positioned for exploring Auckland’s coastline and islands. A short drive takes you to the ferry terminal, where you can hop across to nearby islands for day trips—Waiheke Island is a local favourite, known for its beaches, vineyards, and laid-back charm.
Shelly Park offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful coastal setting with easy access to vibrant village life and some of Auckland’s most beautiful outdoor spots.
Getting to my home
To get to our home from the airport you can catch an uber, taxi or super shuttle.

Getting Around
While having a car is preferable and makes getting around especially easy, there are public transport options available. Local bus routes run nearby, connecting Shelly Park to Howick Village and surrounding areas. From there, it’s easy to link into wider Auckland transport networks.
We’re also a short drive from the Half Moon Bay ferry terminal, which offers a scenic and enjoyable way to travel into Auckland’s CBD or explore nearby islands. The ferry is a popular option for day trips and commuting alike.
For visitors wanting flexibility—especially families—a car is recommended, but public transport is certainly available if needed.

We’re a family of four based in Shelly Park, Auckland, New Zealand. Our home is within walking distance of both Shelly Park and Cockle Bay Beach, with beautiful walking tracks that wind down to the water and make the most of our coastal setting.
Our little crew includes a curious 3.5-year-old, a smiley 5-month-old, a pilot husband, and me—self-employed in marketing. Our work allows us a good degree of flexibility and the ability to travel at short notice. We’re simply keen to make the most of travelling with our children while we can.
While we’re new to home exchanging, we’re very experienced travellers and have spent years exploring different parts of the world. Travel has always been a huge part of our lives, and now we’re excited to experience new places at a slower pace, through the lens of family life.
We’re respectful, tidy, and genuinely house-proud, and will treat your home as if it were our own. As for where we’d like to go—honestly, we’re open to anywhere. City, coast, or countryside—we’re keen to explore, create memories with our kids, and experience everyday life somewhere new.
Our newly renovated home is light, comfortable, and ideal for families. A large deck overlooks the water and is perfect for entertaining. The house has four bedrooms (including two children’s rooms, one with a cot) and two living areas. We’re well set up for family life, with plenty of toys, a high chair, cot, and pushchair available.
Shelly Park is just a five-minute drive to Howick Village, where you’ll find lovely bars, cafés, restaurants, and boutiques. We’re also a short drive to the ferry terminal, making it easy to explore nearby islands—Waiheke is a firm favourite.
We take great pride in our home and would care for yours with the same respect and attention.
