General Overview
Very charming 2 bedroom house which combines both Spanish/Moroccan style with modern comforts. We love the open layout and the access to outside spaces from the patio and the large terrace where we enjoy an incredible view of old Moorish village and the surrounding green hills of the National park (and a bit of the Mediterranean Sea!). The kitchen and bathroom were completely refurbished in 2024 providing modern comforts. We love the fact that we can walk anywhere in Frigiliana; a charming old Moorish white village with many beautiful boutiques and bars and restaurants, or to the Natural Park of the Sierra Tejeda-Almijara. Within 10 minutes you can drive to Nerja and swim in the Mediterranean Sea or eat charcoal-grilled sardines at a Chiringuito. In less than an hour you can visit Malaga and/or Granada. The village is very friendly, has a vibrant cultural program, and has a wonderful public swimming pool in the summer.
The Space
Unlike many houses in Frigiliana, there are no stairs to access the house, and you can park in the street often. Upon entering there is a little entry space with a place for shoes, keys, and coats and beach stuff etc. The main living space is the first room you enter. The open kitchen and living space are connected (split level), which is a very charming space. The recently remodeled kitchen is relatively spacious and has all the modern cabinets and new appliances. It has a charming window, zelige tiles, celing fan, big apron sink, induction burner and is well equipped as we like to cook. There is an eat-in bar area. The living room has a fireplace, a comfortable couch with recliner seats, a recliner arm chair, a modern TV and sound system. It has an AC unit/heater. The beautiful stained glass doors and skylight create aesthetic ambience. There is a small balcony on this level which has a gas BBQ, a patio heater, table and chairs for 4 (extendable to 6). The view of the village and surrounding hills, and even the sea, is amazing. Downstairs is the washing machine and storage closet. Upstairs is the main and recently renovated bathroom with a rain shower head and also a window with the same view as downstairs. The two bedrooms are upstairs. Both bedrooms have AC/heaters and cute Juliet balcony doors. The back bedroom has a new Emma mattress and is very comfortable. The front bedroom has a comfortable sofa bed (with mattress toppers), a desk, and a TV and bluetooth speaker. The next level up is a large terrace which is a perfect place to soak up the sun in the afternoon or watch the sunset.
Guest Access
Two and a half floors. The lower level is private and locked. Guest will have access to the entire space and use of the main door.
Notes
In the day there are some tourists, who are mostly day-trippers. They soon leave and the village is very tranquil in the mornings and evenings.
