General Overview

We love living in Kedron, it is a very convenient location in Brisbane. Our house is quite large, perhaps too big for the two of us (our kids have grown up & moved out). It is very peaceful & tranquil here!

The Space

Our main living area is upstairs where we have our kitchen, dining & living room, opening up onto a covered deck which overlooks the swimming pool. We have 3 bedrooms upstairs with a queen, double & single bed. There is also a room downstairs with a double futon which could be used as a 4th bedroom. The main bathroom is upstairs, with a separate toilet. There is also a functional bathroom downstairs but needs updating. There is a second spacious living area downstairs with access to the pool and garden.

Neighbourhood

Kedron is a quiet, leafy neighborhood, known for it's proximity to good schools, hospitals & shops. There is an extensive walking & cycling path along the Kedron Brook.

Getting Around

We are a 10 minute walk from the bus stop. Brisbane CBD is a 20 minute bus ride. Westfield Chermside Shopping Centre is a 10 minute bus ride. South Bank Cultural Precinct ( Art galleries, Museum, parklands on the river) is a 30 min bus ride. Theme parks (Movie World, Dream World & Wet & Wild) are 45 minutes by car. Australia Zoo 55 minutes by car. Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast are 1 hour by car. We have 2 bicycles (one electric) you are able to use.

Megan and Alan

Megan & Alan, early 60's, on the cusp of retirement from our government jobs and looking forward to travelling the world. We enjoy walking in nature, reading and love to cook as well as eat out. Megan is a qualified naturopath & nutritionist who currently works in medicines regulation. Alan worked long term in social housing, and is currently on a career break, enjoying making some home improvements and playing social tennis. We are new to home exchange.
