General Overview
Rockport is a small coastal town located on the Texas Gulf. The town has a ton of fishing opportunities, birding, art and other outdoor water activities. It is located 45 minutes via car from Corpus Christi, Texas. The city itself has a beautiful public access beach that is perfect for kids. Port Aransas is located only 30 minutes away should you wish to be in the thick of the party scene! Rockport is perfect for family getaways and has close enough proximity to South Texas for hunting or fishing adventures as well.
With enough notice we are happy to show you around San Antonio if you fly in there before you drive to Rockport. We are also willing to host in Rockport and take you fishing as well for the right reciprocal opportunity.
The Space
4 bedroom 4 bath (all on suite). Two king size beds in two masters. The other two bedrooms are bunk rooms (one sleeps 6 and the other sleeps 4). All bedrooms have bathrooms attached. Our home is on an island community and directly on the water. We have access to a community pool as well and depending on the guest we may throw in use of our golf cart during your stay. The home is close enough to restaurants and the grocery store to travel by golf cart!
The backyard is directly on the water and you can fish from the dock. We have 5 kayaks, life jackets, a fire pit as well as a pellet grill for you to use. We have a lovely, covered porch for outside covered dinning as well. If you are brining a boat there is enough room for a trailer and space on our dock to tie up.
Guest Access
The house is all one floor and comes with an e-lock for easy access. There is plenty of room for parking as well
Notes
Backyard is fenced and has a private dock. There are boat rentals close by and enough space to tie up a boat on our dock. The community pool is close by as well as is a private eating club that can be utilized as well.

Neighbourhood
The entire neighborhood is on a private island. The walking is amazing on the island with beautiful views of Aransas Bay.
Getting to my home
From Corpus Christi just head north on HWY 35 directly to Rockport. Its about 45 minutes from there. From San Antonio head South on HWY 37 and then exit HWY 188 and drive directly to Rockport for a total of 2.5 hours.
Nearest airport
The closest airport is Corpus Christi International located in Corpus Christi, Texas USA. It is a 45 minute drive to the airport from the house. If you are flying in consider flying into San Antonio International Airport as it is much larger and only 2.5 hours from the house. We can also meet and give a tour of San Antonio as well.
Getting Around
You can easily traverse Rockport in a car. Most things are accessible via golf cart. There are multiple islands in the bay system around Rockport that are accessible only via boat and they are virtually all public. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a picknick completely isolated on a island!

People Like Us Local Guide
I can meet to tour Rockport or the surrounding South Texas area or help set up tours of San Antonio (including the river walk and Alamo). I am happy to guide you on a fishing trip as well or during a winter exchange on a coastal duck hunt and fishing trip.
Had an excellent stay at the vacation home of Gable and Rachel. Enjoyed kayaking off the deck and drinking my morning coffee on the back patio. The Rockport Beach is perfect for children as the waters are very calm and shallow. It also offers a lovely playground, palapas, and picnic tables.
Gable and family have a wonderful spacious home on a canal in Rockport. I was traveling to Arizona and wanted to stay somewhere humid and near water and this was the perfect spot! This home is large enough for a big family who enjoys the outdoors. I enjoyed my walks along the gulf and reading on their deck which overlooks the canal. Gable was easy to communicate with and the House was fully equipped with everything a family needs!
Gable's spacious open concept home right on the canal in Rockport is a wonderful relaxing stay! Bay Shores, which runs along the gulf, is a wonderful way to walk or bike ride. Very nice little community! Gable's home was equipped with all the comforts of my own home, I especially liked how he uses labels, need to do that in my PLU home! If you want to enjoy the gulf, this is the place! The weather was perfect, and humidity just right!
We had a wonderful experience hosting Rachel, Gable and their children! They were fantastic communicators from start to finish, friendly and fun, keeping us updated and also taking amazing care of our cat.
We even got to spend a couple of days together, showing them around Auckland, getting to know them (it actually felt like we have always known them), which was an absolute highlight.
They left our place immaculate. We couldn't have asked for better guests and are already looking forward to visiting their home next year!
Gable and his family were delightful visitors to our beach house. Their children were very respectful and keen to learn about Australia. They were fascinated by our dangerous animals. The family treated our home with respect and were keen to learn about how things were different here.
Feedback for Monika & Rhys·Non-Simultaneous exchange·10 nights
Monika and Rhys were the best hosts we have ever had. Their hospitality is unmatched. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts during our stay and are truly thankful for the friendship we created. We look forward to seeing them again next year! If you are ever in Aukland--this is the place to stay.
Feedback for Sandra·Non-Reciprocal exchange·14 nights
The home was great for our family. We loved the windows and opening up the entire house. It's a close walk to the beach and shops in Agnes Waters as well.
As for Sandra and her husband (Rege) they were amazing hosts. They had a homemade dinner waiting on us upon arrival! We had an hour drive from the airport (at night) and after that long day they greeted us like family. We couldn't have asked for more!
Feedback for Rena·Non-Reciprocal exchange·2 nights
Great guest. She was pleasant to speak with, very knowledgeable about PLU as well. You couldn't even tell that she was there! I would hesitate hosting her again.
Feedback for Melissa·Non-Reciprocal exchange·3 nights
Such a great guest! No trouble at all! I would not hesitate to welcome her back in our home. Very communicative and our housekeeper said the home was very clean after her departure. Such a great experience.
