General Overview

We live in a family home an hour outside of Munich in the countryside in Oberhausen, close to some lakes and an hour away from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Zugspitze. We have children age 3 to 7. Our 2 male cats live with us and stay at home, when we travel, so guest should be cat friendly and would need to feed them twice a day

The Space

The house has a large combined kitchen and living room with a fireplace (child safe), piano, winter garden and access to the garden on the ground floor. Upstairs are 2 sleeping rooms and the play room of our oldest. We have one main bathroom (shower and large tub), one small bathroom (shower) and a guest toilet. WiFi works great at the place (e.g. also suited for remote working / video calls), mobile reception is sketchy in the neighborhood.

Guest Access

All sleeping rooms are upstairs (accessible only over the stairs)

Neighbourhood

The direct neighborhood has mainly family homes, the center of Oberhausen is 5 minutes by car / 8 minutes by bike. The two villages close by have a supermarket, pharmacy, train station (Munich / Garmisch), some smaller restaurants

Getting to my home

Train or car from Munich is about an hour, there is a direct train every hour.

Nearest airport

Munich Airport is about 1.5 hours by car, 2 hours by public transport. Innsbruck (Austria) 1.5 hours by car

Getting Around

We have a few bikes available for the closer surroundings, having a car for trips to the south for interesting places is recommended.
