Neighbourhood

Less than 5 minutes walk away, you can find the island's oyster and shellfish producer which is of high quality. A little more than 5 minutes away in the village there is a mini-market, the small market square, active twice a week in season and a good part of the restaurants. The restaurants on the island are mostly fairly average crêperies; the only establishment that comes close to a fine dining restaurant is the San Francisco, located on the harbor, but its prices are relatively high. 5 more minutes and we arrive at the supermarket of the island small but quite well stocked. On the port, a bar/wine shop, the weathervane, sells generally interesting bottles. The island itself contains a Cromlech, a few menhirs and many traditional houses in the village, but it is especially attractive for its small coastal paths that allow you to go around the island enjoying beautiful views of the Gulf of Morbihan. It also has many beaches, including Port Miquel, less than 5 minutes from the house. These are usually only passable at high tide, with the exception of the large beach, which is located just behind the port. At low tide, it is always possible to use the various pontoons that flow into the sea, such as those at the Pointe du Trech, 10 minutes north of the house. In the surrounding area, the towns of Vannes and Auray are 30 minutes away by car and have old town centres, partly medieval and quite worthy of interest.

Getting to my home

The easiest way is usually to get to Vannes by train or car. 30 more minutes by car or bus and you reach the pier of Port Blanc which allows you to reach the island. A few hundred metres before the pier, there are large free car parks where you can leave your car. The last boat is at 7pm, once every 30 minutes in winter, 10pm and once every 15 minutes in summer. The crossing takes 5 minutes. Once on the island, you can reach the house in less than 15 minutes on foot. People with mobility problems or with a lot of luggage could use a taxi service until this year, but it has been interrupted, I don't know if and when it will resume. Alternatively the house has a sleigh that can be used to carry 2/3 large luggage

Nearest airport

Nantes airport is 128 km away.

Getting Around

The island is strictly pedestrianized, only a few residents and professionals can use a car. Those who don't want to walk can use the services of one of the 2 bike rental companies located in the port

Francois

Software engineer but passionate about travel, history and literature. In Paris, we already have experiences of exchanging or helping travelers through sites such as couchsurfing. The house we are proposing to exchange is a family second home to which we are attached but which we do not use often enough; This is why we also want to be able to share it with other travellers. I can speak English or Italian if needed
