General Overview

Our home is calm and peaceful, with spectacular views over the Serra d'aire e Candeeiros mountains and lots space. The location is central to everything Portugal has to offer. We are an easy drive to the ocean and the magnificent waves of Nazare. Or you can step back in time with medieval castles and monasteries around every corner. Or indulge at award winning restaurants and bakeries. Or just enjoy a beautiful day on our property hanging out on our deck or patio and enjoying country living as you watch our nieghbor's magnificent thoroughbred horses gallop in their pasture. But if you want the city then Lisbon is an hour drive or reachable by public transportation. Our house might not be the best for very young children because the yard is at the top of a meter high retaining wall, with our nieghbor's horse pasture below. Also bedrooms are upstairs and the staircase is marble.

The Space

We have 5 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms and a fully equipped chef's kitchen. The house is arranged perfectly for 2 couples, with 2 ensuite bedrooms. But we also have room for more with foldaway beds in the library or office. We have a washer and dryer as well as heat and air conditioner.

Guest Access

It's a 2 story house with bedrooms upstairs. There is step free access to main level of the house with a full bathroom and home office which can be made up with a bed if needed

Neighbourhood

We are in a mid size traditional Portuguese town with everything you need. Biking and hiking trails in the neighborhood. Walking distance to an excellent café, butcher, fruit and vegetable market as well as 2 supermarkets. There is also a pharmacy and clinic nearby. Several good restaurants are in town and many more in Alcobaça or Caldas da Rainha, both of which are a 15 minute drive from the house

Getting to my home

The Lisbon airport is a a 75 minute drive from our house. There is a bus station in Benedita to take you to main cities, but it is best to have a car to really see all that this area has to offer.

Lisbon's International Airport is 1 hour 15 minutes drive away

Getting Around

You can walk to some things but it is best to have a car
