Neighbourhood
The Huon Valley (and indeed Tasmania) is renowned for its natural beauty with green rolling hills and waterways offering a diversity of landscapes, native animals and bird life. There are stunning National Parks and hiking trails for those keen to get out into nature and getaway destinations such as Bruny Island are less than an hour’s drive from Cygnet.
The Huon Valley and Hobart itself host many festivals such as Dark Mofo and the Mid-Winter festivals, Taste of Tasmania and Cygnet Folk Festival in the summer to name just a few.
We are surrounded by orchards and vineyards and there is a big focus on eating locally from sustainably grown producers nearby. Farmers markets run every weekend and of course the famous Salamanca Market runs every Saturday up in Hobart all year round.
Check out the captions under the photos to give you some ideas about what Tassie has to offer, it's definitely worth a visit!!

Getting Around
Walk/bike/car
It’s less than 2 km each way and a beautiful walk along the Port of Cygnet, framed by hills and valleys. En route is our local yacht club (hence lots of boats moored here) and a bird wetlands area.
