General Overview

Bright, modern apartment in the town of Barreiro, across the Tejo River, just south of Lisbon. The apartment sits on the 7th floor of a building with wide, magnificent views of the river, the Cristo Rei statue and the 25th of April bridge in the distance. The apartment has 1 bedroom w/king bed, 1 full bathroom, full kitchen and sitting area and a small balcony. I love the view from every window and the beautiful sunsets. Gorgeous Ocean are within a half hour drive, River beaches are as close as 10 minutes. I will provide you with a detailed document for recommendations in our lovely area, including restaurants, cafes, beaches and historic sites. We ask that you leave the house in the condition you found it. If you'd like, we can coordinate house cleaning to occur after your departure for a fee of 75 euros.

The Space

All modern conveniences are available: air conditioning, washer, dishwasher, All rooms have room-darkening shutters and curtains to make the area near pitch black for sleeping. microwave, air fryer two elevators in building. We ask that guests please remove shoes before entering the living space thanks.

Notes

If you are staying in Lisbon I would advise against renting a car unless your accommodation has free parking because street parking is limited and zoned, you will be towed if you are not permitted for parking and it's very expensive.

Neighbourhood

The apartment is centrally located in Barreiro which is very walkable and also has an efficient bus service. There are many restaurants and a large supermarket is within 5 minutes walking distance. There is a beautiful riverside park 2 minutes walk across from the apartment. It’s a 10 minute walk to the ferry to Lisbon and to the train that goes to other towns. Ferry ride is 15 minutes and service starts at 5 am and stops at 1 am. On the Lisbon side, ferry terminal is attached to the Metro for easy access to all of Lisbon. There is no need for a car unless you’re exploring cities that are outside of Lisbon and, even then, you can use the trains or buses that are very efficient. We will leave a list of apps that can be used for cheap travel around Portugal. We love to explore so, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out and we would be happy to answer them.

Getting to my home

From the airport you can access our apartment by car or metro in approximately 40 minutes and street parking is available everywhere unlike Lisbon where most places you will have to pay and very limited parking because of the congestion.

Getting Around

We have an extensive network of busses, ride share and trains. To get to Lisbon is a 15 minute ferry ride, ferries run every 15 minutes from 5am to 2 pm every day.
