Neighbourhood

The Lower East Side is a the center of NYC's cutting edge arts and culture. We are minutes from two subway stations, a half dozen bus routes, 3 bikeshare racks, 3 public parks (and two gated parks just for our building), restaurants both local and world-famous, bars of every type, and literally countless galleries and shops that you can only find in NYC. We are also a few blocks from Essex Market, where you can get amazing produce, fish, and meat. Brooklyn is just over the bridge, the East Village five minutes by foot, Chinatown, Soho, Noho another 10 minutes, the lights of Broadway 20 minutes by subway. Robert and I have lived in NYC for almost 30 years, most of it in this neighborhood, and will be happy to make recommendations based on your interests. We are particularly tapped into the performing arts, and can help you see shows and venues most visitors don't usually find. Our building is part of a development built in the 1950s by labor unions for their workers. Many of our neighbors have lived in their apartments their whole lives, and the area is notably varied in age, culture, race, religion, and every other measure you can think of. It's the best of NYC.

LGA 20-30 minutes by cab. JFK and EWR 45-60 minutes by cab.
