General Overview

Welcome to our classic and cozy little flat, perfect for exploring all that Madrid has to offer! It's small but we strive to keep it uncluttered. It has everything you'd need for a visit and a wonderful terrace for enjoying the sunset.

The Space

Small but comfortable 3-bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment on the 6th floor of a building in Chamberi, Madrid, equipped with a small lift.

Notes

- One bedroom, our daughter's, is off of the master, meaning you have to go through master bedroom (railroad style). - We have a washer, but no dryer (we line dry outside and have a drying rack for inside) - We do not have a microwave (removed after picture was taken) or oven. We do have a stovetop, an air fryer, and an instapot for cooking. - We have some toys for kids, and lots of legos (a giant suitcase full), two kids scooters, and balls.

Neighbourhood

Our street is a nice, treelined block, and our home is surrounded by local shops, cafes and the best part is very short walking distance to multiple metro and bus stops. We love the relaxed and friendly energy of our neighborhood and the amenities of living a city life. Chamberí is considered one of Madrid’s best neighborhoods thanks to its local feel, understated elegance and easy livability. It has classic Madrid charm: beautiful architecture, leafy streets, and iconic plazas, without the tourist crowds. We especially love Park Oeste/Temple of Debod and Plaza Olavide (a must for families!). There are multiple super markets within 2 blocks (Carrefour, Dia, Aldi), as well as a Corte Ingles (with a great SuperCor supermarket), 6 story Zara, tons of boutiques, fruterias, pastelerias, pharmacies, coffee shops and more. You'll really have everything you need within minutes of walking out the door.

Getting to my home

We are two short blocks from the Arguelles metro stop, and even closer to multiple bus stops.

Hello! We are a family of four living in Madrid. We lived in Austin for 15 years before that, where my husband was the manager of a large international music festival, and I was a stay at home mom and occasional substitute teacher and PTA parent. We have two kids (ages 7 and 10) and a cat, and are happy to live as minimalist city people after doing the whole large house in the suburbs thing for a long time. We love travel adventures and languages, and showing our kids the world. Our son is profient in Mandarin, and both our kids are now learning Spanish here in Madrid, and they love exploring new places and learning about new cultures. We would love to do reciprocal or point stays within the EU and UK whenever possible-- we are very open to creating our own long weekends. Our cat is easy and a sweetheart, and we'd just ask for guests to refill her food and water and show her some love.
