General Overview
Welcome to our cozy apartment in Milano!
My partner and I finally moved together last year, and since then, we had several people housesitting our apartment during our frequent work trips and holidays. We have around 20 plants, and if you’re staying for longer periods I might ask to take care of them, especially during the summer. Now it's time to try some swap!
We do care a lot about our space, and we’re looking for people who are equally caring, respectful, preferably non-smoking (if you are, you need to smoke on the balcony) and super clean. You can expect to find a sparkling clean space, and I expect you’ll keep it up to the same standards (we might also agree on a small cleaning fee, if you prefer).
We’d prefer to swap with 1-2 people, but in case you have kids, they’re more than welcome (up to 2). They can be accommodated on the big sofa-bed in the living room.
The apartment is always available during the Christmas holidays (2025-2026: from December 21 to January 15) and during the Easter holidays (2026: exact days still to be defined). We’re usually out of town from the second half/end of July to the end August. In that time of the year we usually look for someone who can cover all the period and take care of the plants.
The Space
The apartment is 65 m², one bedroom with a double bed, living room with a big sofa-bed, small balcony, kitchen, bathroom and a cabinet. It's full of plants and bright colours!
The apartment is not super fancy, some pieces of furniture are a bit old-fashioned, but you can find (almost) everything you need in it:
-Living room: super comfortable big sofa-bed, 50” smart tv, Playstation 4, board games, a guitar, books (in Italian), table, office chair.
-Small balcony with a small table and a chair
-Bedroom: double-bed, a desk, office chair, some space to hang your clothes, clean sheets (1 pair) and clean towels (unfortunately, I don’t have big shower towels or bathrobe for you)
-Bathroom: toilet, bidet, sink, shower
-Kitchen: moka, air fryer, gas oven and stove, mixer, boiler.
-Cabinet: cleaning stuff, fan, vacuum cleaner
If you’re planning to work from home, note that there are two desks and office chairs available in separate rooms, but we DON’T have WIFI.
There’s no air conditioning either. Summer can be hot, but we have two fans available for you :)
Guest Access
The apartment is at the third floor with elevator. The elevator is small, though, and I’m not sure a wheelchair would fit, I’m sorry about that.
The living room’s window faces a highway, which can be a bit noisy during peak times.
All other rooms face a quite back courtyard where you are allowed to park your car. It’s not granted that you will find a spot, but we usually do.

Neighbourhood
The apartment is located between the metro stations Brenta and Corvetto (5 minutes walking from both stops of the M3). The city centre (Duomo) is 15 minutes away by metro and the Central station is 20 minutes away by metro.
Not that Brenta/Corvetto is not a touristy or fancy neighborhood. It’s a suburb, where you can find whatever you need in terms of supermarkets, pharmacies, gyms, coffee places, bakeries, fresh food markets on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and some cheap (but good) restaurants. However, to visit the main attractions of the city or enjoying the nightlife you’ll have to move to different areas of the city.
Getting to my home
From Malpensa or Orio al Serio airports you can either take the shuttle or the train to Milano Centrale station.
From Milano Centrale station, you can take the metro line 3 (yellow one), direction San Donato, and stop in Brenta or Corvetto, where you’ll have to walk for 4-5 minutes.
From Linate airport you can take the metro line 4 (blue one) direction San Cristoforo until the stop Argonne, and then the bus 93 to the stop Piazzale Bologna, right in front of the apartment.
Getting Around
Metro stations Corvetto and Brenta (M3) are 5 minutes walking. Bus 93 and 84 stops are right in front of the building.
We’re very close to the southern access of the city: you can easily take the freeway and drive everywhere, although I do not advice to visit Milan by car.
Milan is a super vibrant European city, full of historical attractions, museums, events. The public transport is very efficient. Enjoy its nightlife or its famous fashion and design weeks!
Milano is also a strategic point to reach several beautiful places in Northern Italy: from Lake Como to Dolomites, from Cinque Terre to Lake Maggiore, and many famous beautiful cities such as Genova, Torino, Bologna, Mantova, Parma. They’re all very well connected by train, or you can drive everywhere.
Hi everyone! I’m Francesca, 33 years old, Italian. I work at the University of Basel, I do research in philosophy and gender studies. I often travel with my partner, Fares, 33 years old, Italian, a mathematician.
I’m new on this website, but I had wonderful experiences with couchsurfing (Paris, Copenhagen, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco), and plenty of 5 stars reviews on Aribnb. Plus, last year I had several people housesitting our apartment, and they all had a great time.
I'm interested in literature, philosophy, gender studies, museums, movies, cinema, and conversations. Of course I love to travel, and I do it often, both for work and pleasure. Both my partner and I often visit our families in Southern Italy too.
I’m usually very flexible on dates, but I prefer to arrange a trip at least 1-2 months in advance (I’m not really a last-minute person!). I’m open to both simultaneous and non-simultaneous exchanges, but also to non-reciprocal ones.
Feel free to contact me and check the availability, I’ll be happy to try to accommodate you!
DESTINATIONS I’M LOOKING FOR:
-Vienna (December 13-17 or February)
-Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto (between March 10-April 3)
-Paris (May/June 2026)
-Berlin (May/June 2026)
-Amsterdam (May-June 2026)
"I’m starting to plan a longer trip in Japan, around March 10-April 3. The route is still up in the air, but I know for sure I’ll visit Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Feel free to reach me if you have any offer!"
Dates Flexible
