Neighbourhood

We are only 5 minutes from the bike trail called the Véloroute des Draveurs. There are lots of hiking trails in the area as well. In the village of Messines, try artisanal ice cream, or go 20 minutes to Gracefield to sample the to-die-for chocolate at la Maison Chaloin (4th generation French chocolatier!). We’re close enough to the quaint village of Wakefield with the Nordic spa at Chelsea to make a day trip, as well as go into Gatineau or Ottawa for the day. There is an elk farm in Bouchette (10 min), as well as an apple orchard where you can pick apples in the fall.

"We are interested in anywhere in Canada, but we are especially keen on the Yukon and the NWT, since we have never been. We also want to go back to Newfoundland and explore Labrador. In Quebec, we would particularly like to explore the Eastern Townships."

"We are looking at Sept-Oct-Nov 2027 or 2028, depending on when I retire. We’d like to explore the west coast, in particular, but also want to return to Tasmania."
