If you are a couple travelling to the UK come and experience something very beautiful but accessible. The Island is quieter than the mainland and has some of the best beaches, swimming, cycling and hiking. It’s a fantastic mix of stunning coastal scenery and quintessential English rolling countryside. And if there’s not enough on the Island the quaint market town of Lymington and the whole of amazing New Forest National Park is just across the ferry from the house…please don’t come here for the nightlife or the shopping though! London, however, is a short walk, a lovely ferry ride and 90 minutes on the train to Waterloo for a weekend trip from your island hideaway. Strandloper is our main home but we have a motorhome ready packed for adventures and a second home in Spain so we are flexible.
The Space
Strandloper is a bright contemporary coastal bungalow with a much cherished and very relaxing garden. Couples only please as we only make one of the bedrooms available. It’s spacious and fully equipped. 5 minutes walk to the beach and 15 minutes walk to the Lymington to Yarmouth Wightlink ferry. A car gives you easy access to wonderful locations all over the Island with the furtherest drive being 45 minutes. But you really don’t need a car given our location, excellent buses and the fantastic West Wight walks on your doorstep, as well as shops and eateries a walk away in Yarmouth and Colwell….including the famous ‘Hut at Colwell’ for an Ibiza style lunch or dinner (book before you travel).
Notes
You might be asked to water some vegetables in the garden in the Spring and Summer in return for picking some of our ripe fruit.
