Our primary home is located in the southern part of the city near Southpark and Ballantyne. We are close to upscale restaurants and an abundance of events and entertainment such as National Whitewater center, Carwoninds theme park, NASCAR museum, and races, broadway shows, art museums, and shopping. Charlotte also has several lakes and rivers, parks, and greenways, and a host of outdoor events throughout the year.
Our home is a four-bedroom 2 1/2 bath home on a large lot. The master bedroom and one guest bedroom have queen beds and a third bedroom has a twin bed. We use the fourth bedroom as an office. We also have a patio, grill, firepit and playset for outdoor enjoyment.
This is a two-story home and all bedrooms are upstairs.
Charlotte is close to shopping, NASCAR, history, and art museums, theaters, Discovery Place Science museum, Carowinds theme park, National whitewater park, Hornets Basketball, Knights Baseball, & Panthers Football. Charlotte has plays and outdoor entertainment year-round. In the spring and fall we have large festivals nearly every weekend. During the summer several parks offer outdoor concerts, movies, and activities for families.
There are also several lakes around Charlotte that provide water sports and swimming. Lake Wyle, Mountain Island Lake, Lake Norman, and Lake Tillery are south, west, north, and east of the city. Downtown offers carriage rides, ghost tours, walking tours, history tours, segway tours, art crawls, live entertainment, and craft breweries.
Charlotte is close to the mountains. Kings Mountain is about 30 minutes away and Boone or Asheville are both less than two hours drive. Lake Lure is one of our favorites and about 1 1/2 hours away. The Beaches are a little over 3 hours away to either Wilmington NC, Myrtle Beach SC, Charleston SC, or Hilton Head Island SC. Atlanta is around 4 hours south. Washington DC is around 8 hours north and Orlando is around 8 hours south.

We live in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors, close to grocery stores, shopping, a greenway, and parks.
Public transport is available but not always convenient. While there are some things within walking distance and a city bus runs along the major road, it is best to have a car to get around.

Hello, we are Joe and Bonnie Aleman. We love to travel, see new things, and have new experiences. This often means traveling to unexpected places. We have been a part of home exchange communities for nearly 20 years with dozens of swaps successfully completed. Our adventures have taken us all around the world, but we find the more places we go the more we want to travel. We are open to requests from anywhere and want to explore our home country (The US) as well as international destinations.
We are both self-employed which gives us a great deal of flexibility on both travel dates and destinations. We have two home allowing us to accommodate both simultaneous and non-simultaneous exchanges. We are also open to hospitality exchanges. Sometimes we travel with our children and grandchildren but often it is just the two of us. We have a home in Charlotte NC and a second home to Bryson City NC.
