General overview
Available for a Globe in 2024
25 October- 1 November 2024
Our bungalow is just 4 miles from Bristol city centre in a small village which is surrounded by woodland and fields and has lots of local amenities.
Bristol is a great place for a city break for families and adults. It has many events running all the time and has everything you expect from a big city- museums, restaurants, shopping, aquarium, science museum, large parklands and historic harbourside with a laidback feel, historic buildings, new architecture.
We are close to the Cotswolds, Bath, Stonehenge, Cardiff. The sea can be found in Clevedon, Portishead, Weston-super-Mare which are all close. There is plenty to do and loads of day trips within reach to keep you busy for a few weeks. You can even surf on a brand new inland artificial reef at ‘The Wave’
The Local motorways are easy to reach which makes it easy for travelling to many UK destinations- South Wales, Devon, Cornwall, Midlands and London.
The space
Our home is a lovely 4 bedroom bungalow in a contemporary style. There is a large kitchen/diner with bifold doors onto the rear patio which is next to the large lounge, with log burner and bifold doors. At the front of the house The master double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom there is an additional double bedroom at the front of the house. In the summer you can often watch hot air balloons flying overhead whilst in bed. There is a single bedroom and an additional office/bedroom with a small double sofa bed if needed. The main bathroom is off the hallway. The bedrooms are carpeted, whilst the rest of the house has oak flooring throughout.
Guest access
There are two small steps to the front door and two from the rear door onto the patio. The whole bungalow internally is on one level. There are 4 small steps to the lawn area in the rear garden.
Notes
The garden is a sun trap in the summer. There is a large outdoor table and chairs on the patio where we eat most of our meals in the summer. There is a bbq for you to use along with a trampoline, giant Jenga, swingball and if you’re lucky with the weather a paddling pool if you’re travelling with kids. There’s plenty of toys and games in the house too.

Neighbourhood
Our village is the closest village to the centre of Bristol, but feels a million miles away. At one end of the village is Ashton Court; an 850 acre estate which is the home of the Bristol balloon fiesta in August. We are about 1 mile away from the Bristol city and Bristol Bears stadium which also acts as a music venue occasionally. The village is surrounded by woodland and fields and also has local amenities; pubs, post office/village shop, small supermarket etc. Buses to the city are frequent.
We love our village and spend hours walking over footpaths through fields and woodland every day.
Getting to my home
Our home is accessible by bus from Bristol City and Weston-super-Mare, however you will probably want to have a car.
Nearest airport
Airports:
Bristol airport is great for European destinations on low cost EasyJet or Ryanair and some international flights. It’s a 10/15 minute drive away
Heathrow airport (115miles/2 hours) is often the cheapest for international flights.
Getting around
The village has a good local bus service to Bristol and a park and ride at the end of the village. There is also a cycle track running through the village if you’re feeling sporty. If you want to visit all the attractions in the surrounding area a car would probably be best.

Our house is available for a globe for Easter (27th March-13th April 2024 and 25 May-1 June.
We have a campervan so plan on using that in the UK and Europe but are looking for October and February half term UK exchanges (In the UK school holidays).
We are house proud but not OTT. We promise to take great care of your home if you would like to exchange with us.
We love to go on holiday both in the UK and abroad.
We love to travel as a family and have previously visited Australia, New Zealand, New England, and various places in Europe. Before our daughter was born we have travelled further afield.
"October half term (24-31st) preferably near a beach or countryside."
