General Overview

Welcome to our quiet home near local amenities, including a local bakery, cute plant/coffee shop, and sushi restaurant. Nestled in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado just thirty minutes from Purgatory Ski Resort and within 3 hours of 10 national parks and monuments. Enjoy our open floor plan and multiple spaces to spend time and relax with high speed wifi, a smart tv with many streaming services, and our backyard with BBQ. It's a great option for those looking to take part in our world class outdoors, including, hiking, biking, skiing, and climbing.

The Space

Two bedrooms, two baths with two dining areas, two living areas, one that has a tv and desk that you can set up on to work, although there isn't a door to this room. We have a back patio with a table and outdoor couch, including a BBQ. We have a large driveway that can fit an RV and car if you're on the road but looking for a place to stay and get a break from road life.

Guest Access

Access to the entire home, except for Andrew's office.

Notes

Our cat will probably be in the home and we ask that you take good care of her. She's very sweet and loves snuggles. She's an indoor/outdoor cat and often will go outside instead of using the litter box. We also have a number of plants that would appreciate a little water during your stay.

Neighbourhood

We live in a small neighborhood with lots of kids who run around the street playing so please drive slowly. We are less than a mile to the river walk that can take you downtown, close to a main road with a bike lane that can take you the 2 miles to downtown. Behind our house is a small trail system with a historic graveyard.

Nearest airport

Durango airport is a 30 minute drive

Getting Around

We are two miles from downtown, 30 minutes from Purgatory Resort, less than an hour from Mesa Verde National Park and less than 3 hours from a number of other National Parks. Durango is located in the San Juan Mountains, home to world class hiking, biking, and backpacking. Due to the nature of this area and the activities available, we highly recommend a car to be able to access all this area has to offer. Enterprise and Turo are good options but Ubers and Cabs are not reliable.

Sarah

We are a couple in our 40s who enjoy outdoor adventures, our favorite being rock climbing. Andrews a Software Engineer who enjoys tinkering and experiments and I am a budding ceramicist. These days we primarily travel to rock climbing destinations and lived on the road for four years. While we miss being on the road, we enjoy having a home base and look forward to exchanging with others. We enjoy opening our home to friends and loved ones. In addition to Andrew and I, we have a sweet cat named Jira, she's an indoor/outdoor cat and depending on the season she spends the majority of her time outdoors, but tends to stick close to home in the winter.
