General Overview

Our 5 bedroom family home faces the River Kent in Kendal, the gateway to The Lake District. Walking distance to all amenities and a short drive to the best Lakeland towns, fells and everything The Lakes has to offer.

The Space

Built in 1873, our home has the charm of a Victorian Lakeland townhouse but the conveniences and comfort of a modern family home. We have 4 children and often welcome guests so the accommodation can sleep 8 in total in 5 bedrooms: master bed with king size bed, 4 large kids rooms, double sofa bed in the attic landing. On the ground floor: living room, dining room, and kitchen that opens onto a tiered garden with dining space. A shed filled with a family of bikes, scooters and roller skates.

Guest Access

This is a 4 storey townhouse with steps up to the front door and many steps in our tiered garden. We are a river facing property in a conservation area, so daytime parking is in a nearby street (2-3 minute walk from the house). So unfortunately we are not an easily accessible property for those with reduced mobility.

Notes

Beautiful river views from all the front rooms, church bells ringing for Sunday service and a public cycle path directly outside the back gate!

Jill

We are a family of six who love to travel. My husband and I have lived in four different continents and lived abroad for 12 years in total. We moved back to the UK two years ago and have enjoyed all the beauty the UK has to offer, but now we’re ready for our next big adventure! We’ve enjoyed UK swaps and treat others’ homes with respect, as we do our own. Our children (aged 5-11) are open-minded, curious and well-travelled for their age. We’re open to pretty much anywhere in the world so long as it fits into our school holidays.
