Neighbourhood
- Our house is ideally located, only 900m away from the sand beach where you could go for a loooong walk
- Same distance to the towncenter with nice restaurants, ice cream sellers, supermarkets, drugstore. During the summer there is also a nice daily open-air market
- Houlgate is a great spot for kite surfers. Even if you do not surf yourself, you will enjoy watching them for hours! At least I do :)
- There is a also a wonderful golf place nearby (1.5km). They often propose “discovery session for beginners”
- And if the weather is a bit rainy, you can relax in a very nice spa & wellness center nearby (1.3km). It has a small swimming pool, sauna, hamman & great massages
Getting around
By car you can reach great touristic places such as:
- Deauville, a seaside resort & an upscale destination known for its grand casino, chic boutiques, horse races and The American Film Festival (20 minutes drive)
- Honfleur, à really lovely harbour with a lot of nice painting galleries. Honfleur inspired various impressionists such as Monet ( 40minutes drive)
- D-Day landing beaches are a must see for anyone visiting the Normandy, full of history (less than 1 hour drive depending on which beach you want to discover)
- The gorgeous white Etretat cliffs, fascinating striking rock formations, one of my favorite places in the Normandy (1h20 minutes drive)
- Last but not least the wonderful Mont Saint Michel, definitely worth to spend a full day there (1h50 minutes drive).
You can check out the “Normandy map”in the "View photos" section for more details
