General overview
Set in the quiet rural village of Cheddon Fitzpaine in the beautiful Quantock Hills Area of outstanding natural beauty in the Somerset countryside, Sunrise Cottage is a delightful 2-bedroom (king-size and double) pet-friendly cottage full of character and charm, ideal for a break with friends, for a romantic retreat, or just some time away from home. It is our second home and also a holiday cottage so it's fully equipped for guests!
Sunrise Cottage is situated just 4 miles from the market town of Taunton, which offers everything you could need to make your self-catering cottage holiday in Somerset relaxed and memorable. In addition to supermarkets, shops, cafes and pubs, there is a weekly farmers' market every Thursday and an outdoor market every Friday and Saturday. Bridgwater is also nearby as is Street, where there is an outlet shopping centre. Reaching Sunrise cottage is easy from the A303 or the M5.
Somerset is easy to reach, making it ideal for short breaks as well as longer stays, with lots to see and do all year round. Whether you are into climbing, mountain biking, sightseeing, eating, shopping, or all of the above, you can plan a fantastic holiday at Sunrise Cottage. There are also plenty of local walks for your pups both on and off lead, including beaches.
The space
Extremely well appointed, Sunrise Cottage boasts a large yet cosy living room with a huge inglenook fireplace with a gorgeous log burner, a spacious kitchen diner, a family bathroom and a downstairs toilet, a pretty front garden with a table and chairs (perfect for a drink at sunset), and a fully-enclosed back garden with an eating area. Both the living room and the master bedroom have comfortable window seats where you can relax in front of beautiful countryside views. Allocated parking is available in front of the cottage.
Guest access
Sunrise cottage is on two floors - please note that dogs are not allowed upstairs. There is a key safe for access.
Notes
We have cleaners looking after the cottage so for swaps, we prefer to swap with guests who either also have cleaners or who don't need us to clean afterwards (we are very clean and tidy but we'd rather not finish our breaks cleaning :-) )

Although you can see fields for miles, within walking distance from Sunrise cottage is the beautiful Hestercombe estate (https://www.hestercombe.com) with its 50 acres of stunning gardens and parkland as well as a cafe, restaurant and art gallery. Local attractions include Sheppey's House of Cider, Wookey Hole, Wells Cathedral, Exmoor's stunning natural wilderness and Glastonbury Cathedral and Tor. From Sunrise cottage you can also easily go horse riding, play golf, hike, walk or just explore the gorgeous surrounding countryside. You can also easily reach Bristol, Glastonbury, Exeter, Poole and many other places in the West country.
Getting around
Sunrise cottage is a ten-minute drive to Taunton, the county town of Somerset. A car (private/rental or taxi) is necessary to get around the area.

Curious travellers looking to explore pretty much anywhere. Cities, countryside, seaside, lakes. It's usually two of us, four max. We are happy to stay in homes with pets provided we can go out for the day and not worry about them being left alone (so not dogs unless they have a dog walker). Wi-fi is critical for us as we are remote workers. We are very tidy and clean and will take excellent care of your home (including watering your plants if you'd like us to!).
