Neighbourhood
Midtown Ventura is a wonderful place to live. It feels like you are in the suburbs but you are only two blocks from restaurants, grocery shopping, hospitals and more. We are 1 hour and 15 minute drive from Los Angeles, 40 minutes from Malibu, 20 minutes to Ojai, and 30 minutes to Santa Barbara. It is a great location if your goal is to explore central southern California. From our house you can walk to the beach as it is just about a mile. You can easily ride the bikes via a bike path to Ventura harbor or to the beach. Road biking is popular here. There are plenty of great roads to ride on that follow the coastline and into the mountains. Fishing is a really popular sport here with ferries departing daily. We have three surfboards that are available for those folks who are experienced surfers. We also have boogies boards, skateboards, basketball, volleyball, bochee ball, and frisbees. We live in a great neighborhood. Ventura is an amazing place to live and we feel very fortunate to live here.
Here is a great short video about camping and kayaking at Santa Barbara Island https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qCq5pG5hPY&feature=player_embedded
This is an awesome short video about the Channel Islands National Park narrated by Kevin Costner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjpvBlfAU1I&feature=youtube_gdata_player
